Bush says '- I'll get bin Laden before I leave the WH'
Anything about this story in the US MSM? I can't remember seeing this mentioned here.

Three articles in Norw. media breaking the news on June 15th:
http://www.dagbladet.no/nyheter/2008/06/15/538219.html
(Bush will attempt to catch bin Laden, according to military sources)
http://www.vg.no/nyheter/utenriks/krigen-mot-terror/artikkel.php?artid=505119
(Bush will do a last attempt at catching bin Laden. According to Us and British intelligence and military sources)
http://www.aftenposten.no/nyheter/uriks/article2483985.ece
(Now bin Laden will be caught. Defence and intelligence sources in Washington and London confirms this)

Propaganda for the Scandinavian market or a omnious sign for what's to come, as Smirky McSmirkster signs off?

Is this the October surprise (or, September-October surprise, as it will go down these days for maximum effect)?
Will they drag Osama's body out of the deep freezer, thaw him up and put him in a man hole somewhere, to be found?
The grand finale of the Bush presidency?

A long hot summer of increased domestic threat level, multiple terror threats (like the summer of 2006) propelled to stardom by the three letter agencies and a MSM on constant lookout for opportunities to bring down the Dem candidate for being 'weak on security' (you know the drill), then suddenly, right before the election (space in between to be calculated by professional fear-and-response psychologists and method of release decided by experienced information planters)--ooops, there he is! Bin Laden, the man of our nightmares is TAKEN CARE OF by Republicans, Bush, Cheney. See, they just needed a little time to fix the whole thing, app. eight years. What is eight years to a population prepared for 'decades of terror war' anyway? Eight years will be nothing when the Man is gone.
Never mind if he stinks a bit, or that his corpse has started to rot because power conditions in Afghanistan where the freezer was plugged in isn't exactly, well, stable. Patch him up for the photo-op, and gloss over the details.
From September to the November election is only two months, meaning if they can keep the stench of rot down for two months, McCain can keep them out of trouble. If a new Repub president comes into power, it won't matter because nothing will be done about it. We've seen that, we've lived through the Bush presidency.

One week before the 2004 election, bin Laden turned up - apparently alive and threatening. Many people asked questions about that. What if he now turns up dead in time to blow some life into Bush?

I saw that over the weekend and steam came out of my ears. Seven years after 9-11 he decides it's a good time to get serious about Bin Laden?

On a more trivial note, it's interesting that he's only having tea with the Queen. In happier times, wouldn't the President of the United States have at least rated a dinner? Sounds like a classy little dis to me. Good for her, say I. :applause:

He's taken his time to get around to actually catching bin Laden, no?
I remember from 2004, when he said catching bin Laden wasn't that important.

Good pic in your sig line, btw. It would be the dream team, for sure.

16. It is highly unlikely.
Even if that occurs it won't matter much. Osama bin Laden is more of a figure head than the planner for al Q. His death by the US would probably have an opposite effect of staving off attacks from al Q. I seriously doubt if Osama is still living that he would be captured alive. I suspect that he is dead. This is more BS from the Silver Spoon Sociopath.

Jeebus. He's starting to look like freaking Walter Brennan.

As for OBL: so, the implication is apparently that they could have caught him anytime in the last seven years, I guess. So if they do finally bring him out to the Rose Garden from his cage in the White House basement (bring out the gimp!), won't people ask "what the fuck were you waiting for?" Oh, wait—that would require actual questions from actual journalists. Never mind.

30. This is my theory on that!
I believe he is telling the truth. I believe Bin Laden is already dead. I believe Bin Laden has been dead for quite a while. I believe there is going to be a major bombing raid, they are going to search the rubble, and find Bin Laden's remains, but the only test they can run is some sort of DNA test that is going to prove that Bin Laden has bee killed. This is going to happen right before Bush leaves the White House, maybe even before the election.

This is just my theory on it. Like I said early, I believe they already have Bin Laden's remains, Bush are just going to use then as an "ace in the hole", to try and raise his approval rating right before he exits the White House.

To me it looks like US, and specially the "conservative" parts of the america is a fearfully group, who would rather give up their "holy right" to freedom, and liberty than to thing for them selfs.. And mr Bush have been excellent to do exactly that.. Use their fear, their anger, and their ignorance to do what he wish.. Off course under the protect of protecting the american public.. Under mr Bush, just the name of mr Osama is enough to scare the hell out of americans. A country who in the old days was fighting down a fare worse enemy (the german and japan) and still managed to put their act tighter and NOT be so fearfull.... And as President FDR once said it.. The only thing the american publics should fear, is the fear itself. And that is so true. If the american public could just for a second stick their neck out of the sandbag, and even try to understand why someone wanted to attack US, then they might could fix what was wrong in the first place.. But for Jane and Joe doe, it is more important to se who won American Idol, than to try to understand why the world are as it is.. And why some angry, extremist muslims, good helped by Saudi-Arabia can blow up two twin towers in NYC. And in the process kill more than 3000 humans..

I am not that sure that the american public are immune when it come to smear and fear.. Rather it is something mr Bush, and more to the point mr Rove are using again, and again with some success.. and they have most of the american media with them. Specially outlets as Fox news and its like.. The HATE media as I would say it, is something that who have been brewing for ages in US. Under the banner of "freedom of speech" off course.. The fact that they for the most is bigoted, hatefully persons who would never get more than ONE HOUR of media coverage in most EUROPEAN nations is maybe something to think about... If an radio station, was hiring some like Limbaugh as an host, it would take a hour or two, before a breakdown of the switchboard would kill the station.. And the commissions for radio channels would active kill the license to the station all together in a few month's time...
But in the US, they are both living veil, and growing.. Why I have no clue, but I would guess that ignorance of many american have a play into it..

56. Yeah, the mainstream will maybe listen to some smear
But they're more likely to listen to fear.
That's my main worry, anyho. But the Dems have a very good candidate, with a lot of Am. people behind him. And it's not just Obama, but a lot of Dem politicians behind him; Dean, Kerry, Kennedy, Gore, Carter, Clark, the list of good people are endless. A lot of grassroot democrats are influencing the decisions made. It's a very cohesive Democrat party in terms of values and politics we see today, and they have the confidence of the majority of the people. The economical situation, Katrina and two wars have opened the eyes of many, I think.
Given a fair and square election process, the Dems would wipe the Repubs out of both Senate and presidency. But it won't be fair and square, we know that.

I can't understand this, that the american public as a large can be co warded to be scared. But this time the old scare tactic maybe are failing.. Even that many would vote for the man who was telling that he would save them from the "evildoers":. And many american are indeed fearfully after the attack of 9/11 2001...

But this time around, I do hope that the most of the america public have understand that everything the republican can do, is to "scare" and nothing more.. After all the scandals that mr Bush have given the US, it should be a long time before any republican can get a Chance of the White House.. Not before the Republican Party have worked out what really was going on when the Bush extremist was running the show.. No Doubt that many old style republican are more than just _angry_ when it come to what mr Bush have managed to destroy...

The election proses would doubtfully be hat fair and square as we hope for, it is not just you in the States who hope that something else would come out of this madness... We miss the "real america" we once admired, and liked to bits. Even that they in many cases was little "weird" compared to european things of doing things.. US was loved, even if we also felled let down sometimes... But I would guess that Rove, and every one else who has something to loose would try to do what they can to steal this election to.. They have gotten away with two president al election in a row.. Why not try for a hat trick....

It would be more dificult, becouse more peopole are watching what is happening today, then it was in 2000 and in 2004. At that time we belived US to be a function democratic country... Not an banana-republic where the outcome could be manipulated by the rulers...

But yes, hell they would try their best to sheat when they can. And to intimitate peopole who are not "the right folks".. They would do their best... But this time I would guess they would be taken into custody if they try to manipulate the outcome.. The wold awaits what is happening in the US. And I hope the voting are going as fair as it can come...

He's much better alive and neutered. Any even half intelligent statesman could have used the international support post 911 to acheive that diplomatically. I am not real clear on whether war with Afganistan was even really necessary - if so, we've certainly managed to screw THAT up.

47. Er.. that would be a too quick assumption
But you never know. OBL has been free for nearly seven years after 911, and I find it hard to believe he's not dead. At the same time, the use of terror as a political means isn't limited to the real terrorists 'work' anymore, but are a part of the Repub machine for society control. It's a disgusting way of doing politics, and it is going on in Europe too. They take advantage of the short memory of the public when it comes to terror-related issues; a huge media blowout scares the hell out of people, but when two months have passed, it turns out to be nothing. Or almost nothing--angry thoughts inside a few simple people's heads are blown highly out of proportion, and they're built to be the next big thing in terrorism. But it won't stand up in court.

50. Maybe
he means he won't leave the WH, until "I catch Bin Laden", ie, when "hell freezes over". He's just trying to have a colloquialism attributed to him. His last chance at some sort of "legacy".

MISERABLE FAILURE!

51. Remember that tape from bin Laden saying he would bankrupt this nation?
There is an ad waiting to be made connecting the economy to the "War on Terra" that the Bush-McCain contingent has foisted on us and which makes the point that they have been facilitating bin Laden in the destruction of America.

52. Ha, ha. They are going to thaw out the coffin they've been keeping him
in sometime between the election and before Bush leaves office. Osama won't be any use to him anymore for scaring security types to keeping up a war if Obama wins. If McCain wins, he'll probably stay on ice for Johnny to do the same.
