The Face of Terrorism in America
Question #1: So just who was the heartless individual that committed America's first bio-terrorist act within our country killing innocent people and giving the government an "excuse" to curtail civil liberties? Was it an Iraqi? Was it an Iranian? Was it a Mexican undocumented worker? Was it an African-American? Was it a homosexual American citizen?

Answer #1: No, it was evil work of at least one clean cut, white American male named Bruce E. Ivins.

Question #2: Who was the the heartless terrorist that bombed the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City in 1995 killing 168 innocent women, children and men? Was it an Iraqi? Was it an Iranian? Was it a Mexican undocumented worker? Was it an African-American? Was it a homosexual American citizen?

Answer #2: No, it was evil work of at least one clean cut, right-wing white American male named Timothy McVeigh.

Question #3: Who was the sick mind that sent mail bombs killing people for decades thorughout the country sometimes called "The Una-bomber"? Was it an Iraqi? Was it an Iranian? Was it a Mexican undocumented worker? Was it an African-American? Was it a homosexual American citizen?

Answer #3: No, it was evil work of at least an academic white American male named Ted Kaczynski.

Question #4: Who was the evil and sick mind that bombed abortion clinics, gay bars and the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta killing and wounding innocent men and women in an act of terrorism in our homeland? Was it an Iraqi? Was it an Iranian? Was it a Mexican undocumented worker? Was it an African-American? Was it a homosexual American citizen?

Answer #4: No, the killer was a right-wing, Republican Christian named Eric Rudolph.

Question #5: And who were the heartless individuals that committed the cruel acts of terror on September 11th in 2001 killing 3,000 innocent people? Were they Iraqis? Were they Iranians? Were they Mexican undocumented workers? Were they African-Americans? Were they homosexual Americans?

Answer #5: No, it was evil work of Saudi Arabians, not Iranians or Iraqis. And the mastermind was a Saudi whose father was a business partner of the President's father for decades.

And yet, why is it that when the White House and the corporate news media speak of terrorism and fear-monger us, they never do so with photos of clean cut, white, Christian men? Why is that?

Here is the face of terror that has caused the deaths of over 1,000,000 innocent children, women and men in Iraq, never mind the rest of the world.

Here is the face of terrorism:

6. Yes, indeed.
And thanks for adding that Christian church leader to the list who terrorized women for years for his own sadistic "fun". No Iranian, no Iraqi, no Mexican undocumented worker, no Jew, no African-American, no homosexual guy or gal.

Something's wrong with the picture of who a "terrorist" is in this country.

10. As a gay white kid growing up in the South, I hate violence of all kinds.
Edited on Fri Aug-01-08 09:47 PM by David Zephyr
And I know my own culture well enough to know that we (white guys) who have so much privilege always see the bad guys as someone other than ourselves.

As a kid, I grew up with almost exclusively white guys, and I can say that nearly every one of them were simply swell, but there were always a few sadistic bullies who loved the culture of violence and who delivered their own dosages out to all weaker than they were. I know because at times I was a victim myself.

Violence against children, women and, men of any kind is evil. And those of us in the majority should stop pointing fingers at those who are minorities and using this "terrorist" term so lightly.

I hate violence. This is why I never have, nor never will own or fire a gun as long as I live.

And we all know that stereotyping people, especially minorities, is what Hitler did against Jews in Germany and every despot has done throughout the ages. Fearmongering, scape-goating, Jew-baiting, gay bashing, subjugating women and people of color is a sickness that still thrives in our country even today.

Think of all of the civil liberties that John Ashcroft and the Patriot Act took away from all of us who are law abiding citizens, who love our country and love peace.

And now that we all know that it wasn't a "foriegner" or a person of color, look how eager the corporate news is to drop the entire story about this first class clod who murdered a lot of innocent people. That's the story today.

12. Well said.
I'm sorry you had to be subjected to hate.

I just hope one day our country can grow the fuck up and end the hate and violence.

13. Not that I like guns, but if they are the cause of violence why do we issue them to bullys?

5. You're welcome. I see you are either a Tica or a Tico.
I love Costa Rica. I spent three months there when I was just 20 years old with nothing more than a backpack, guitar and lots of wanderlust.

My OP is about the stereotype of who a terrorist is that has been drummed into our skulls here that is upsetting to me.

Needless to say, I did not even touch on the holocaust against Africans called slavery or the genocide against Native Americans called Manifest Destiny.

Thanks for you comments.

9. Your answer to question #5 is wrong.
"And who were the heartless individuals that committed the cruel acts of terror on September 11th in 2001 killing 3,000 innocent people? Were they Iraqis? Were they Iranians? Were they Mexican undocumented workers? Were they African-Americans? Were they homosexual Americans?"

It was Dick Cheney, perhaps with some assistance by the CIA or Israeli Mossad.

11. And who was the guy a few years back who was planning to unleash poison gas into a shopping mall?
Only caught because some forged documents being sent to him were delivered to the wrong address...
