Edwards's Ex-Lover Rejects Idea Of DNA Test

Rielle Hunter, the former presidential campaign aide who had an affair with John Edwards, said yesterday that she will not pursue DNA testing to establish the paternity of her 5-month-old daughter, despite the former senator's offer to participate in such a test.

In a statement provided to The Washington Post, Hunter said through her attorney that she will not be party to such a test "now or in the future."

The attorney, Robert Gordon, called Hunter a "private" person who is "not running for public office" and would not comment further.

"She wishes to maintain her privacy and her daughter's privacy," he said in the statement. "Furthermore, Rielle will not participate in DNA testing or any other invasion of her or her daughter's privacy now or in the future."

$100 grand for some youtube videos never used and $15 grand a month in hush money. We still don't know how much of the money outside the $100,000 came from campaign funds. Some of us gave thousands of dollars to that campaign so I wonder how you would feel if you thought some of your donated money might be going to a mistress.

How would I feel? Like I got duped and learned a good lesson. A lesson that, at this point, can't be proven beyond speculation of intent. Now, that said, if you think your funds went to a mistress, and that could be proven, I'd consult a lawyer and file suit. See how simple that is?

Yeah I do feel duped right now, mostly because I liked Edwards populist message. Now we need somebody who can take up that banner from him and continue with it.

I didn't donate to Edwards, as Kucinich was my choice. BUT, had I done so, I'd maybe have some issues with how money may have been spent and feel duped as you do, especially considering how wealthy Edwards is and how wealthy I'm not.
