How many thousands of times have we said of Laura Bush's grooming: "She looks like Jack Nicholson in Batman!" Someone's got a "separated at birth" picture of Laura Bush beside Jack Nicholson in his Joker makeup, and they're frighteningly similar.

Well, evilDUers, after viewing photos of her numbnuts husband at the Olympics having to be picked up off the floor today I finally realized why she wears that much makeup: she's hiding behind it. If you were married to...that...THING...she has to pretend to like, you'd do the same thing. I think she's got two standing appointments for the morning of January 21, 2009: an esthetician and a divorce lawyer.

12. In defense of Laura Bush

Michelle Obama, the 44-year-old wife of Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, had some nice words to say today about first lady Laura Bush.

Appearing as a guest host of ABC's "The View" today, Michelle Obama said she was "really touched" that the first lady defended her after she said that "for the first time" in her adult life she was proud of America.

On ABC's "Good Morning America" while in Europe, Mrs. Bush said that no doubt Mrs. Obama meant to say she was "more proud" of her country. Michelle Obama said today that she had written a "thank you" note to the first lady.

"I was touched by it and actually I sent her a note," Obama said. "It took me a while to write it. Like, how do I address her? I sent it to 'Madam First Lady.' I don't want to talk about it because she might not have it yet."

Mrs. Obama added: "That's what I like about Laura Bush, her calm, rational approach to these issues. I am taking some cues. There's a reason why people like her, because she doesn't sort of fuel the fire."

In this case Laura Bush was very gracious. I hope I don't get flamed for this but I had to point this out.
