6. I was rather surprised
that only one paper in the state of Mississippi carries her garbage; the Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, the State Capitol. We get the small circulation local paper twice a week for the want ads and police blotter and obituaries, but they have the most godawful, idiotic, garbage, lunatic, trash columns I've ever read.

And Mississippi is going to outlaw abortion. But its mostly going to effect the families of the good christians in the state. It will be a boom to the DNA testing industry. More good lil Mississippi girls will have to find out who their babies daddy is.

2. very interesting list
Pennsylvania has more more papers that carry her than NC, SC, MS, AL. California and Illinois have the most, Texas has three. It seems news of her popularity was greatly exaggerated. And, judging from the two papers in NC she's in, the markets she does have are in the small town/village size range.

7. I don't find it out of line w/what we've thought in the past...
Actually, I'd like to see an independant search of the #'s all of these RW Media Mob lay claim to.

I can't believe that so many people listen to Limbaugh, but I can see where they could pump up the #'s, it is all about market saturation, then claims so many millions because of the areas they are in. Limbaugh plays twice in my area,( 2 different times/stations), so this samll city has 23,000+ people x2 = 46,000 pairs of ears that "may" listen to him. He can charge what he likes because he can claim the market is his. There are times when I've heard him say this precisely what he does, to get the ratings up to charge more $.

Oddly, Glenn Beck seems to take in more of an audience around here than Limbaugh.

The Savage Wiener plays out here in the evening, but no one admits to tuning him in. In fact, most people say they'd rather calm down than get wound up at that time of the evening; comedies and nature shows on TV are big out here. Since this is farm country, most of the >50 crowd are in bed before 10PM.

Some people around here like O'Reilly, but not many thaqt I've asked, maybe 20%. Most people watch local news channels, and surprisingly, PBS is watched by at least 50%. Antiques Road Show, some of the music programs, the British comedies on Fri night and Nature seem to top the list on PBS. At least 15% use Lehrer as a news source, and some of the Iraq documentaries they've had lately has drawn a big crowd.

3. Are you a member of mediamatters? The Dekalb Daily Chronicle (IL) just dropped her
so there are now seven newspapers. Can you get that information to them?

Anyone a member of dkos? They are tracking it too.

5. Replaced her with Malkin...
While I'm glad to see they dumped her they reached for the second worst offender to replace her. I guess it's tough to find a reasonable Conservative these days.

9. (Yreka) Siskiyou Daily News
We learned at our Central Committee meeting last week that our local paper is dumping her. There are also some other positive changes, like no longer simply printing the repuke press releases and flatly ignoring stuff from Dems.
