I’m really tired of hearing about who put his winky where or in who when. I just don’t care. Be it John Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole, Newt Gingrich, Bill Clinton, John Edwards or John McCain. I just don’t care.
Winky management doesn’t have a whole hell of a lot to do with running the government.
Let’s face it, when someone gets to the level of candidate for the presidency or even member of congress they attract a lot of attention from groupies. Yeah, it’s hard - strike that - difficult to imagine someone like Strom Thurman having panties thrown at him or motel keys pressed into his hands but power is a strong aphrodisiac and these men (and women) have really big . . . egos.
Kennedy, regardless of Marilyn and Angie Dickenson, did a pretty good job with the Cuban Missile Crisis doncha’ think? Bill Clinton did okay with the economy despite Monica’s winky attraction didn’t he? So why this fixation with winky control?
I say just leave winkies out of government. Put ‘em where they belong or somewhere near where they belong just don’t use them as a measurement of governing ability. It just ain’t no big thang, ya’ know?
