LONDON - A British man has been banned from visiting his girlfriend's home after neighbors complained about noisy sex, a local official said Thursday.

A court barred Adam Hinton, 32, from being within 110 yards of his 29-year-old girlfriend Kerry Norris' apartment, Brighton and Hove City Council spokesman Mike Taggart said.

Residents of Norris's publicly owned home had been complaining since 2006 about thumping music, banging headboards and screamed obscenities, Taggart said.

Neighbors also complained about Norris sunbathing naked in her yard, and were upset that a 6-year-old child in the building had been "subjected to the sort of obscenities you wouldn't want a 6-year-old to hear," the spokesman said.

Brighton council obtained an injunction against Adam Hinton, 32, of Brighton, for threatening neighbours whose complaints had led to legal action.

The injunction says Hinton will not be allowed within 100 metres of flats 74- 84 Bramble Way. It prohibits him from conducting threatening behaviour or abuse or causing nuisance or annoyance to residents and also prohibits him from approaching any of the witnesses involved in the case against Norris.

District Judge Gamba said: “The first part of that is preventing you from doing something you shouldn’t be doing anyway.” The judge warned Hinton that if he was found within 100 metres of Norris’s flat he would be immediately arrested.

Most apartments are made so the bedroom area is in the part least likely to let sound waves travel... were they plugging the hole in the living room, next to the wall of the adjacent person's unit?

And screaming obscenities could mean different things in a different context. Heck, if I heard a lady shrieking "FUCK!!!" I'd probably call 911, thinking she's being raped... and unlike OJ Simpson, I'm not very agile with cutlery...

next door neighbors had frequent and very loud sex. We couldn't help but hear regardless of what room they or we were in. After awhile, we got used to it. However, it was embarrassing when we had company over.
