I hope this audience isn't representative of most of the people, or we are going to lose
and if that happens, that will not only indicate just how low America has sunk to, and how stupid its people are

26. Didn't they have to cough up a grand for a ticket?
There's a reason they're all white and dressed to the nines.

3. No. These are evangelicals, the Republicans' fundie base.
We had to expect McCain would be well-received. I'm actually a little surprised they applauded Obama as much as they did.

But they do not represent the general public. This is the lunatic fringe you're seeing.

8. Good. The sad thing is that if they vote for mccain, they would be voting against their own
interests. In addition, his stand on healthcare and social program is the opposite of what I thought "Christianity" stood for

23. You're Right
I'm pleased with the reception and applause Obama got
considering the setting. It could help end the "Obama is
a secret Muslim" nonsense.
Obama walked into a Lions(Liars)den and survived.

10. Not hardly
These are not the average voter on the streets. Most of these people in the audience are republicans, that's obvious. All McCain is doing is pandering to them, and avoiding questions he don't want to answer. Most of what I have seen so far is nothing more than McCains stump speech, period! It is the people at home watching the TV that will see through his answers and see the real McCain, the guy we "don't" want to run this country.

11. The media will say it is
and the media will say McCain knocked it out of the park, and will report how well he looks, and get ready for McCain to take the lead in the popular vote and the EC in the short term.

It's going to happen. People just have to be prepared for it and redouble their efforts. No giving up just because it's not going to be a gimme for us.

17. I didn't see all of Obama's interview so I don't know how it went over
McLame gets applause after EVERY answer because it is a Republican evangelical crowd that is trained to respond to 30 second soundbites like sea lions at the circus.

27. An audience full of people who were never going to vote for him anyway
BUT the danger here is this:

Where is there an equivalent "forum" that favors Obama..one where McCain would have to answer without the panderlicious answers?

Answer?

There is no such forum, because dems are a varied bunch, and we do not form monolithic biased grouplets..

The worst thing that ever happened in modern politics is the formation of the "religious right".. They are and have always been about 20-30% at MOST, yet they had the overwhelming support of right wing radio/media, and became way more powerful than they deserved to be.

That they are religious,is NOT the problem.. the problem is that they INSIST that everyone be as religious as they are, and they will stop at nothing ...even violence to get what they want..
