Classmate of murderer of Bill Gwatney said he had contempt for Democrats
Edited on Sun Aug-17-08 12:03 PM by ck4829
People who knew Timothy Johnson are speaking out about the man who shot and killed Democratic Party Chairman Bill Gwatney.

"He could be the type of person that could do something like this," says Johnson's former classmate Reggie Tucker.

Tucker graduated from ASU Beebe in White County, but during the 2007 spring semester Tucker had two or three computer technology classes with 50-year-old Timothy Dale Johnson, the man who murdered Bill Gwatney.

"I would always remember going to class and I would see that he had a Bill Clinton anti-campaign sticker (on his car) that says I don't miss Bill. "He would surf the internet and he would see that a Democrat had died and he would laugh about it."

Possible clues, Tucker says, about why Johnson targeted Bill Gwatney, Arkansas Democratic party chairman.

3. That is a good clue. Is anyone who matters planning to investigate further?
This story is being expertly suppressed so far.

10. "expertly suppressed" - no doubt about it.
absolutely no doubt in my opinion that the media is ignoring this story for a reason, and the fact that media elites pay right wing hate spewers obscene amounts of money to spew anti-dem, anti-union, anti-worker, anti-middle class vitriol has a lot to do with it.

5. And the fear of crossing the repugs grows.
People never know when one of them will come unglued like Johnson did and erupt in violence. People never know when the death threats will turn real. Is it any wonder why * is still sitting in the White House? I've railed against Pelosi since she said impeachment was off the table. But tragedies like the Gwatney killing have got to be going through her mind. There but for the grace of *insert higher power of your choice* go I.
Mission Accomplished Mr. Johnson. The fear of making repugs angry is there and has been reinforced. Even if it's just a political discussion amongst friends or relatives. One never knows when the eruption of violence will occur.

6. Good points from the comment section
The "librul" media keeps saying he voted for Thugs and Dems but he
was probably just crossing over to screw up Dem elections. I say he was Thug all the way!

Why is KTHV lying about his political affiliation? According to the White County clerk, Johnson has voted 13 times since 2000, several of those times in general elections where party preferences aren't identified. He voted in the Republican primary in 2002, the Republican primary in 2004 and the Democratic primary in 2006. He voted in the Republican presidential primary in February 2008. By my count, that's three of four Republican. Many Republicans vote in the Democratic Primaries all the time, so clearly without any doubt, Johnson was a Republican. I think the laughing when Democrats die was another clue.

I will not completely deny the idea that it was politically motivated attack, with out undeniable proof of it, I will question it's validity, because all conjecture does is fuel a fire that we do not need any bigger than it already has been.

Just because he voted Dem in 2006 doesn't mean he was a swing voter. Looking at that primary election, there weren't many contested races for him, and the ones that were contested were landslides. It is conceivable that he pulled a Democratic ballot in that primary to try to effect the races the only way he could.
I don't think we should discard a political motivation based on that election.

11. ..."he would see that a Democrat had died and he would laugh about it."
Sounds eerily similar to many posters on DU when someone on the right dies or is diagnosed with a fatal illness, e.g. Tony Snow, Robert Novak, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan.

13. Putting my tin foil hat on.
Assassination type operatives usually seek out malcontents, who could kill someone they want off'd. Their m/o is to convince that person to put their words into action. They aid them with weapons and money. They also are behind them to finish the job in case they miss. Then they stand back while the malcontent takes the fall. They know that person will probably be killed so he can't be traced back to them. If the assassin is taken into custody, he is usually conveniently killed before he can talk. Lee Harvey Oswald is an example of this. Usually, investigation ends at this stage. It's just too text book of a situation not to put my tin foil hat on. :tinfoilhat:
