Poll question: Have Republicans rendered you clinically depressed?
I know I can't be the only one who is mentally, spiritually, and emotionally suffering from 10 years or more of Repug attacks (including the Clinton impeachment mess) on democracy and the Constitution.

How about you? Are you depressed, too?

1. Nothing that a Dem in the WH wouldn't cure
along with super majorities in the Houses and the prosecution for war and other crimes of those responsible. I would be (hope I will be!) dancing on the clouds should that happen!

2. The country is being run by psychopaths,
sociopaths and raging narcissists.

The only ones who aren't depressed are evil people who are glad that their own kind are in power...or
people who are severely in denial.

It's a badge of honor to be aware and affected by these thugs.

8. Nope. I am telling them what I think and enjoy seeing stupid people folding.
I have lost a few "friends", but have gained some more friends lately. I firmly believe the old ignorant conservative/republican is dying out- it might take several more years, but they are on their way out. Society is changing. They are being held together now by hatred, especially fundamentalists. But that is changing too. I don't have any data, but I feel it around me. At 70 years, you start to get a feel for what is happening (how's that for confidence?).

Edited on Sun Aug-17-08 08:32 PM by mvd
In part because of health concerns, but also the stress of the election. It's hard not to be depressed about what our country has become.

14. I'm depressed and fearful about the future
Not so much for me, but I'm scared what my two kids are inheriting in the next 80+ years. The climate change in particular depresses me when I think about it.

26. The people who are sent to war matter; the GOP who avoided military service do not.
The people effected by the shitty economy matter, but the GOP that made the economy shittier does not matter.

The people losing their homes matter, but the GOP who profited off a market they manipulated to damage as many people as possible do not matter.

31. no i don't allow fuckwits to control my mental health
a wise man once said there is no heaven or hell but thinking makes it so

i will not allow evil doers to make me depressed and unhappy in my one and only life

for most of human history it's a fact of human nature that that evil aggressive men take control, if you allow yourself to get depressed about it, you have a fairly narrow window of opportunity to be happy

That has been aggravated a great deal by these people.

So did they cause the condition? Nope. Have they done everything they could to make it worse? Yep, roger that.

36. I hope the people who selected (Yes, and I've seen a doctor/therapist/take meds for it) are joking.
How can we possibly change the country if we have that many people seeing professional help over a political party. Man I must be too much of an Optimist, and focus more on the good stuff our party is doing over all the crap the other party is doing.
