Watching Katie Couric interview Plame tonight, I think I finally figured her out.

Katie's memorized the appearance of certain journalistic techniques but she doesn't know what they're really for or how to appropriately apply them. The result is she looks like an actor sitting in a 'car' set in an old movie. Film of the passing street is running behind her and her hands are on the wheel but her "Toonses The Driving Cat"-like 'steering' is out of sync with the film or the situation.

They showed the (redacted) manuscript of Plame's book, although the book was published long ago.

And the shot of the Wilsons' office looked familiar. Did Katie ask anything about the civil suit? It just seemed like old news.

9. I saw the interview too. I kept comparing Valerie and Katie. They

both have light eyes and hair, almost the same color lipstick and yet one appeared so alive and vibrant and the other stone-like. This was one interview Katie should have let someone else do. I don't think Katie could understand how Joe could possibly, still, be enraged! She does not understand the implications of the administration's deeds.

Katie acted like it's a little intermural squabble between two rival school cliques. She can't fathom that people (contacts) probably got killed as a direct result of the outing.
