CNN is in Atlanta, right? I keep hearing that Atlanta is a pretty
liberal city.. Then why can't they ever find any "analyst" for CNN who isn't stapled to the RW talking points?
Hmmmm ?

1. They don't look for intelligent Atlantans
They look for pliable tools who look "intense" and will say what management
and the advertisers want. They grab them where they can get them.

2. Most of Atlanta
Most of Atlanta is very liberal but the area around it is very conservative. North Fulton, Cobb and Gwinett counties are very red

4. Whoah.... There are liberal strongholds within inner Atlanta.... BUT
veer a few miles outside the perimeter to nearly any of the suburbs and WHOAH..... Your impression of any bastion of liberalism is way off track.

6. Some parts are. The Atlanta suburbs, though, are the belt buckle of the Bible Belt.

7. It Is Liberal

This will make you snort . . . the rest of Georgia derisively refers to it as "the city-state of Atlanta," with racist undertone fully deployed. As if, absent the presence of such a big city, Georgia would be any more important than South Carolina. Less, probably, given the lack of coastline (except for a few miles).

As several posters have pointed out, though, the immediately surrounding suburbs and exurbs, for the most part, are hard right wingnut territory. Newt Gingrich hails from there, for just one example.

8. Fox News is in New York City...
I don't think the local politics have much impact on these national news networks.
