How would Republicans benefit from a McCain win?

Maybe it's a fool's quest, but I'm trying to break it down and understand why the average Republican wants to vote for him. I'm trying to come up with some good reasons. So far, all I have is:

1)Religion in schools
2)No raise in taxes

That is truly all I can come up with. What will benefit them if they vote him in? When a Republican walks into a voting booth on November 4, what specifically will he/she be voting for?

I'm not talking about the ruling class; I'm talking about the everyday person, blue or white collar worker.

Can anybody help me understand this better?

I've never known anyone who could actually handle their own business who felt the need to tell everybody how tough they were in the first place. There is a difference between talking and backing it up.
