Poll shows voters support military action in Iran
A poll released Wednesday found 63 percent of voters support U.S. or Israeli military action against Iran if diplomacy fails.

The poll commissioned by the Israel Project, a group based in Washington D.C. with an office in Jerusalem, found Americans across the political spectrum see Iran's government as a threat to the United States - 85 percent among Democrats and 97 percent among Republicans.

At the same time, 62 percent of those polled said they believe an opportunity exists to pursue a diplomatic solution with Iran. Those polled favored direct negotiations with Iran (28 percent), increased economic sanctions on Iran (27 percent), and increased diplomatic pressure (19 percent) among non-military options for handling conflicts with Iran.

The poll was done by Public Opinion Strategies, a Republican firm, and Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research, a Democratic pollster. It was based on surveys and focus groups conducted during July in the United States, Germany and Britain.

7. Well, nobody asked me but if they had...
I would not support US or Israeli military action against Iran, whether or whether not diplomacy fails. Gimme a break! IRAN??? A threat against the U.S.? Give it up, people!

Sorry...just don't see what the threat to the U.S. might be. Actually, I take that back. I'm not sorry!

10. I call bullshit
Look at who did the polling and ask yourself what and how were the questions phrased. Could have been a push poll. Who did they ask? Etc. etc.

11. "The poll commissioned by the Israel Project..."
An objective group if there ever was such a thing.

I'll bet the questions were completely straightforward and on the level too. Not at all like those bogus Presidential polls we're expected to accept every other day.

14. The headline is misleading (fault the Denver Post)
if diplomacy fails is still a big if.

Diplomacy still has several years to succeed or fail. The junta is being irresponsible trying to push war now and the press is being irresponsible pretending there are two sides to this issue.

The only nation on the planet who ever believed such a piece of total bullshit.
