As a photojournalist,

and as someone this has happened to, http://www.abcnews.go.com/Blotter/Conventions/story?id=5668622 , I want it questioned whether it's at a Republican or a Democratic convention. I do know ABC is far from fair and balanced and this sidewalk may very well be private property but this is NOT what we as Democrats want to see anymore.

A different link, the ABC story keeps disappearing along with the footage. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/08/27/abc_new_producer_arrested.html

I'm see that. It seems to be disappearing as we speak. I'm going to link a different source.

3. There's no reason to treat anybody that way who is otherwise behaving peacefully
Private property or not, ABC or not.

It's become all too acceptable for the police to push people around.

5. My guess is
we are not seeing the entire event. At the very beginning you can tell the police has asked the reporter to move. The reporter replies, "Wait a minute" as he talks on the phone. We don't know how many times the police asked the guy to move or how many times the hotel asked him to leave. What we do see is him telling an officer to wait a minute. I'm in now way making excuses for the police officer but my approach would not have been to tell the police officer, "wait a minute" while a made a call. I would have moved to the area the officer asked me too and then made my call. This reporter broke the big rule, he became the story.

7. If that's the case then I agree
...to an extent. (I couldn't see the video because my computer is funny with some of them.) The description of how the officer grabbed the producer is what concerned me. If he were a burglary suspect or some such refusing to comply with an officer's commands I'd be a little more willing to give the cop some leeway in how much force is used. But this guy was obviously with the press, not posing a threat.

I think they both did the wrong thing.

8. It's important
now days to keep an open mind, reporters like this, and some that Fox employee relish in becoming the news.

9. It would be nice
...to see incentives to restore professionalism all around, instead of the opposite, wouldn't it?

Don't know what it's going to take. Maybe, as I believe, we really will have to hit rock bottom before we understand what's been lost and decide it's time to straighten up.

10. man-o-man
it's a hard road. So many juiced police officers, so many journalists with agendas. We really went wrong when the first "protest zone" was set up. That hurt freedom bad. Can she recover from the protest pens? I don't know but I sure hope so.

11. WAKE UP AMERICA!
Remember when you were growing up and you were told that if you were ever in trouble you should find a nice policeman who would help you? Remember "To Protect and to Serve"?

Too many police in this country have bought into the Blackwater / militia / cocky jackbooted thug thing... I am tired of seeing ugly, fat, rude, cigar-smoking pigs (yes, I'll say it, PIGS) strutting around in black outfits intimidating American citizens out of their First-Amendment rights.

But this is what George Bush's administration has brought on this country and now it permeates our culture, even at the Democratic National Convention.

WAKE UP AMERICA!
