It was a very powerful moment when he asked the crowd and the viewers to "stand with my Dad" in the coming months since he can't and to stand with Barack too.

He was a good speaker. Moving.

I couldn't help but think of him going to Iraq and how many Americans would actually do as he asked, you know, as a favor to him, as a kindness to him, in honor of his service...a way to give back in some way to a soldier soon to ship out.

Stand with them, what was the quote used recently from Lincoln, something like, "make sure you are in the right spot then plant your feet firmly" (roughly translated ;-) from my tired memory).

Anyway, I intend to stand with them. Hope millions of others will do the same. God's speed Beau Biden and may you return safe and sound from duty. INJ Amen.

1. That was ONE of the parts that had me blubbering --
I can't imagine what it's going to be like for Joe to see his boy head on over to Iraq. He almost lost him once so many years ago...

2. did he even say why he wouldn't be there?
I might have missed it, but I though he didn't even directly explain it.

6. yes, I know that, but my point it he didn't milk it - I wonder if people at home
were asking "why not?" and had to find out.

8. I got sniffly from the moment he started talking.
But I must say that I am d*mned proud that it's OUR ticket that has a son in the service. No military experience, my *ss.
