Good News for the Gulf Coast: Gustav seems to be meandering and weakening

Yesterday, Gustav was predicted to make landfall as a Category Three hurricane, today it is predicted to landfall as a Category Two.

The Gulf being so warm, it seems clear Gustav is destined to instensify as it moves into the Gulf, and we all remember how swiftly Kartina went from Cat 1 to 5, but things are looking better for the NO and the Gulf than they were yesterday.

One more category drop, to a One not a Two, when it landfalls, will be significant. Plus, maybe it will keep meandering and losing relative strength, or veer off the predicted course altogether.

Good luck, Gulf Coasters. You are in many thoughts and prayers.

4. From your keyboard to God's ear
The best outcome would be a drop in intensity and landfall in some lightly-populated area in Texas. This storm does give me a strong feeling of deja vu, though. :scared:
