Gustav does the unthinkable and turns WSW overnight
Should now go through Jamaica or South of Jamaica. We're expecting lots of rain and at worst a minimum hurricane as well.

This now looks like a major Texas hurricane. Clear those oil rigs right fugging now!!!

Projected landfall is now early Tuesday.

14. Rain, rain, rain
not bad so far. We're ready for whatever comes our way. Shelters have been opened across the island.
I'm sure hillside homes will be destroyed and communities will be under water.

12. Were it not for the poor people in Gustav's path
this hurricane would be the perfect metaphor - the ultimate full stop for this criminal, uncaring regime.

To think that Dobson was praying for rain in Denver.
I am curious to see which Rethug from a Gulf state will dare head to the convention since no one knows where this is heading.

By the way today is the anniversary of hurricane Katrina.

20. I'm sending cyber-hugs and best wishes!
I think that fool's selfish prayers might turn out to backfire on the GOP.

Gustav could very well grab all the headlines next week. People should be careful what they wish/pray for.

Our only worries are the possibility of losing power before Barack speaks tonight and the post-storm mosquitoes. :D

17. We're not leaving home today or tomorrow
Hurricane warning means 'stay at home' and our place is very safe - it has been tested with regularity these past few years. :D

24. Storms don't think. They just follow orders from conditions.
But, has mankind been messing with the conditions (Mother Nature)? And this a timely if ungentle reminder of the folly of our efforts to burn stuff, and of our unpreparedness and incompetence?
