Getting Lipstick On The Pig
.

Regardless of how hard the trash talkers of the right wing try to tarnish the efforts of the Democratic Party in Denver, keep in mind, next week, the other party will meet. The Democratic Party did have a good convention. Their message is clear and the members of the party are united. They have a strong ticket and a positive ‘brand.’ This combination can be expected to help move USA forward on many levels.

The other’s (of whose name is not to be uttered), on the other hand, face some serious challenges. It troubles me not to sit gleefully and watch as the moronic minions of hate-talk radio try to get people to kiss the pitiful pig the ‘others’ are trying to palm-off on the people.

Keep the up-coming election campaign focused on the political parties and the way is clear to victory. Give the people the clear choice between the Democratic Party and the other party.

The Democratic Party holds an opportunity to restore and replenish USA.

3. I Have Mixed Feelings...
I'm hopeful the Repugnicans come out with nothing but negatives...attacks and slime. It will bare their bigotry and hatred to the country and the world. In '92 this hurt the GOOP as many voters saw a bigger picture..."it's the economy stupid" and a repugnican party that offered no real answers to real world problems.

Yes, they will try to put not just lipstick but the entire Maybelline company on their pig...showing their parallel universe where the "economy is strong" and lots of phony flag waving with a strong under-current of racism, sexism, homophobia and religious intolerance. And, of course, the corporate media will say this shows "strength"...but it could also expose both as not relating to the big problems or issues.

My hopes are a majority of American aren't that stupid to be duped much longer...8 years of GOOP abuse is coming home to roost and it's the big unwritten story that the corporate media won't cover as the beltway villagers aren't suffering from a lack of healthcare or losing their jobs or homes or have any direct affect of the destruction of our military or international status. People aren't feeling as good about things this year as they had in the past and they know who created this mess...and hopefully the GOOP will try to "trumpet" their successes that will only widen the disconnect this party has with a majority of Americans.

Keep in mind that the Democratic party voter rolls have grown over the past couple years...far outstripping that of the GOOPs...and the corproate media still ignores this reality.

Overall, while I'd love a bit more "red meat" out of the DNC, I also believe many are tired of the partisan bullshit and can see through the GOOP's spins and lies...and if they dare try to push the up is down, black is white worldview of fear and inclusion, it will just embolden not only Democrats (who are far more enthusiastic about going to the polls this year) but repulse many "independents"...a dynamic that also has shifted. Many of the independents in the past elections have moved toward the Democrats and their ranks are now filling with former repugnicans...mostly moderates...who see their former party as a bigger threat than any Democrat.

Cheers...

4. Lipstick?
More like radical reconstructive surgery.

But it will work on a surprisingly large number of American sheeple.
