The Rethug Convention may face not one, but two hurricanes.

3. I believe it will be known as "Hannah". However, a lot of the
models are showing it curving out to sea as well. It is way to early.

4. So Far Most The Storms Have Veered North...
Except for Fay...that was more a gullywasher than a real killer, the weather patterns have taken a lot of these storms on a more northerly tract, but it appears things are starting to shift.

I saw this storm earlier this morning and I don't know if this one will be a threat as it's already further north than most dangerous storm and could veer further north when it hits the gulf stream. Still...it would be quite a "message from god" if these two storms were posing a threat while the GOOP swillfest is going on.

Be careful, looks like Gustav is ready to rain on your parade.

:hi:

9. It's Raining Here..Partly Bullshit With A Chance Of Slime
I was reading about the "Ayers" scandal and how that's gonna be "hugh"...their "series" this time.

Hopefully the storm keeps moving away...and aims at the chicken ranch in Crawford.

I'll be happy to see a nice clear sky in Denver tonight...so much for the "power of prayer"

11. My Dilemma
I was in NOLA a few months ago...got a private, local tour of Lakeview, the lower 9th and into St. Bernard Parish. Many are still suffering...strip malls remain "stripped" (so much for our corporates helping...if they can't make a buck, they're outta there) and people still live in trailers. The big thing was how resiliant these people have been despite all the cronyism and government malfesance...they've persevered despite. I fear even a Cat 2 hitting the city.

That said, I'd love to see a split screen during his assholiness' "victory lap" on Monday night with a storm bearing down...a reminder of the biggest clusterfuck in American history that befell that city and the Gulf Coast 3 years ago tomorrow.

12. I think Gustav will hit Texas
I face the same dilemma. As much as I'd love his assholiness to be reminded of their clusterfucks, I don't want to see those poor people experience another hurricane.

16. Not yet
Just rain. The centre should reach Morant Point in an hour. We'll know the real situation in a few hours.

20. DAMN...
I slept though a disaster last night. BAYER about took the town of Institute WV off the map! "Sister Plant" to the one that killed thousands in India a few years ago.

The phone rang about 2:00 AM telling us the shelter in place was over...first time we knew we'd been sheltering in place.

I'll post the pictures and story later.

Hope the storm left you safe and sound.
