Today's questions to the Bush Administration...
Edited on Thu Aug-28-08 09:31 AM by TwoSparkles
In less than a week, it is possible that a very strong hurricane (category 3,4 or 5) may
hit somewhere on the Gulf Coast---what are you doing RIGHT NOW to prepare for this potential disaster?

Besides monitoring the weather, are you preparing now for a disaster that may leave thousands of
people without food, water or electricity?

What about the levy system in New Orleans? It was judged inadequate after Katrina. Is it now--three
years after Katrina--repaired and strong enough to withstand another major hurricane?

Anything could happen with this storm. It could fizzle out into nothing. However, the possibility
exists that this storm could morph into one of the most devastating hurricanes our country has seen since
Katrina.

This hurricane is projected to hit the coast next Tuesday, September 2.

That's five days from now.

Bush Administration---What are you doing TODAY to prepare for a potential national disaster, and to ensure that
people don't drown in their own homes--because it took too long to get to them?

What are you doing TODAY to ensure that people aren't deprived of food, water and any help for several days,
like we saw with Katrina?

Is FEMA coordinating plans TODAY, and are all FEMA officials TODAY readying for a potential hurricane disaster
and recovery effort, as we speak?

These questions need to be answered NOW---not while a category 4 or 5 hurricane is pummeling the United State's
coastline--while people are drowning in their attics and dying on American streets.
