It seems really incongruous, when you realize that many dems REFUSE to even go ON their little dog & pony operation..

Was it Dean's decision??

Somehow I cannot see him going along with that dumb idea..

2. Fox should NEVER be in the rotation.. they are nothing more than an arm of the RNC
Is that why MSNBC is broadcasting outdoors? Did they refuse to be part of their "game"..?

10. MSNBC is part of the pool
The principal pool members are NBC(which includes MSNBC and CNBC), CBS, FOX, ABC, and CNN. Other networks (such as CSPAN) can and do "buy" in to the pool to gain access to the feed.

3. It was a cost saving idea the networks came up with
rather than each network sending camera crews to the conventions, they would take turns and share the feed. Just so happened that it was faux noise turn. Dean had no say in it

4. I posted almost the exact same OP either yesterday or the day before.
Apparently they do a pool feed to cut costs and draw straws for the honor. Fox got the Democratic convention, NBC the Republicans.

The good news is that the other networks have their own wireless cameras roaming the floor of the convention, but the wide shots are all Fox cameras.

5. Personally I Think It's A Non-Issue. All The Complaining Here About It And Fear About It,
but so far the coverage and cameras have been perfectly fine.

6. as explained numerous times: pool coverage is chosen by lottery
Fox "won" the drawing for the DNC; NBC "won" the drawing for the RNC. The pool coverage consists of a number of stationary cameras aimed at the podium and panning the crowd. Each network taking the pool feeds can also have roving cameras on the floor and use their own producers/directors to decide which pool feed, if any, to actually air at any given moment.

Pool coverage is used for numerous events, including the state of the union, the inauguration, etc etc.

12. The only complaint I have with the overall coverage is,
when they cut to a reaction shot in the crowd, why do they always choose some guy who looks like he came straight from his job at the bait shop, or some woman who gets her hair done at "Mr. Marcel's Curl-Up-and-Dye?" Surely there must be some Democrats at that convention with some class.
