The Ruling Elite?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arms_industry

"If we can keep the peasants afraid of their neighbors........." Eternal war!

I'd like to hear a discussion relating to how to reduce the work force that makes these weapons. The 'owners' of the companies aren't going to give up easily.

Oh, what we could be if the technology could be turned into more peaceful products.

1. Ford/Yale, GHWB/Yale, Bubba/Yale, GWB/YaleHarvard, Obama/Harvard...
Hillary/Yale,Michelle/Harvard

If we really want diversity in our government, don't vote for anyone from Yale or Harvard.

2. The Education System
would seem to be the place to start. Cowboys and Indians, glorified Manifest Destiny, worker bee lessons.
Changing the world-view of those who choose the curriculum might be in the time of a generation or two.
Or a SUDDEN world event to shake preconceived notions loose.
Just saying, the military-industrial thing is observably the largest dipper into the tax pool.
And we have many societal benefits from the spin-offs and research, undoubtedly.
But also some of the fiercest weapons imaginable.
Who's in control?
I hear the pay is good. Don't know of the spiritual debt.
Must be hundreds of thousands of us humans making killing devices.

3. the reason the educated elites run things
is because they are given fast tracks to success.. given better jobs earlier, rise faster, and use contacts from their education to dominate.
