Rove: "The Republicans can’t seem to get a break when it comes to August"

http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/08/28/gustav-threatens-gop-convention-plans/

<snip>

“The Republicans can’t seem to get a break when it comes to August and when it comes to the weather,” said Rove, a FOX News analyst. “I know this is being thought a lot about in Washington and at the White House and discussed and I suspect they will monitor it carefully and figure out what to do.”

6. Actually most of the pundits say that McCain has had a great August with
successful attack ads. I wonder why Rove wants to change the narrative on that? Makes you wanna go "Hmmmmmm?".

11. It is to bring attention to how mccain will be different from bush
in reacting to disasters. After it says they may postpone the beginning of the convention this quote from the article stuck out to me.

“Senator McCain has always been sensitive to national crises — in the 2000 race, he postponed his announcement because of the situation in the Balkans, and we are monitoring the situation very closely,” Bounds said.

Gee, it didn't stop him from celebrating his birthday with bush while New Orleans flooded. I guess it shows where his priorities are.

7. Weather wouldn't be as much of an issue if they had managed Katrina well
Hurricanes happen, but the levies didn't have to break, people didn't have to be stranded for days and days, the evacuation didn't have to be for car-owners only. The hurricane mother nature, the disaster was Bush-made. No hurricane is good news, but the reason this is such a big deal is because of what happened last time. In other words, competent government creates its own breaks.

8. Come one people, I'm sure they've learned their mistakes....
This is the new Bushco, the kinder, less oppressive Bushco who will provide American disaster Victims aid quicker than providing aid to Malaysian disaster victims.

13. I have heard that mccain is coming out with a new commercial
today to hit Obama while the attention is on his speech. I just saw one, but don't know if it is a new one or an old one, I block them out most of the time. this one is about the economy, has a woman's voice, says Obama's answer to the economy problems is to raise taxes, and ends with "Obama is ready to raise taxes but not ready to lead."

The new ad has been kept a big secret and is suppose to be an important swipe at him. So I think this must be an old one, because if this is the best they can do they are hurting. Of course there will be dummies out there that don't realize the taxes he is talking about raising is those for corporations and the rich who received all the benifits under bushco.
