Any advice for WAMU employees, since it's in talks to be bought out?
Edited on Wed Sep-17-08 04:12 PM by readmoreoften
I have a friend who works in the collections division for an hourly wage. If it is bought out, will she lose her job? My friend doesn't follow these things and I'd like to give her a heads up if this means she should be looking for another job.

1. if she's in collections she's probably safe and the only thing to change
will be the color of her paychecks.

2. It's better than 50% that she would.
Because if it's bought by another established bank, they will already have staff and locations.

3. Yup.
Thrift shop books are cheap and you will have lots of time to catch up on your reading.

4. Sad to say this, but in the current economic disaster, the collection industry will be booming.
Good news for your friend, but bad news for those who will be avoiding her phone calls. :(
