Zucker: Republican is 'the new gay'

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Film director David Zucker says conservatives are so uncomfortable in Hollywood that being a Republican is "the new gay."

"You sort of feel like you have to hide it," Zucker -- director of "Airplane!," "Top Secret" and "The Naked Gun" -- told EW.com. "When you meet, you give each other a secret look, 'Are you a Republican, too?' It's the new gay."

Zucker and some of his fellow Hollywood Republicans -- including Jon Voight, Kelsey Grammer and Dennis Hopper -- collaborated on the upcoming movie, "An American Carol" EW.com characterized the movie as "Hollywood's first unabashedly right-wing comedy."

"Most political comedies say both sides are bad," Zucker told EW.com. "We're saying, '(Expletive) it.' We're taking a side."

As for Zucker.... fuck you asshole. You just ruined Airplane for me. I'll never be able to laugh at that movie again, knowing it was made by a fucking piece of shit Repig as yourself. :puke:

And I saw an ad for their new movie last night. It looks like typical right wing "humor". As in Mallard Fillmore or that pathetic Daily Show ripoff they tried to run on FAUX Noize. Hate isn't funny, Zucker. You should have stayed in your "closet" (to use your own pathetic analogy)

12. Well, republican (which being one is bad) IS the new gay (nothing wrong with that)
Edited on Tue Sep-23-08 12:00 PM by TlalocW
But that's because it's been obvious even to a straight cracker like me with no gaydar whatsoever that when you have a group of people who are so vehemently anti-gay, chances are it's because they're gay themselves and can't accept that side of themselves. Take Fred Phelps of the GodHatesFags.com church in Topeka for example. When he dies, his family is going to discover a huge stockpile of gay porn.

"Gay" has also long been a grade school taunt on the playground. For instance, if little Bobby had a more nebbish type father who looked unathletic and wasn't overly macho, the kids at school might tell Bobby that his dad is gay to tease him. I hypothesize that because of all the "gay problems" that the republicans are having that if little Bobby's dad is instead a macho, suit-wearing WASP, he'll be called gay, or he'll be called republican, which will be a synonym for gay, which is of course unfair to gays.

14. Mr. Zucker can go straight to hell
Being a rethug is based on choice (ususally because of extreme wealth, extreme religious insanity, or extreme stupidity), unlike being gay, which I do not think is a choice.

Saw a commercial for "An American Carol" yesterday. That will be a must to avoid.

And the rethug "celebs" they list

Jon Voight - Did classic movies decades ago, now he's Angelina's dad
Kelsey Grammer - Didn't he play a shrink once?
Dennis Hopper - based on some of his roles ("Blue Velvet", "River's Edge", "Speed"),doesn' surprise me he's a rethug.

:grr:

15. Hardly
Do they get arrested for being Republican? (Gays did in the 1940's and 1950's, in Hollywood no less)

Do they get killed by "lone nuts" for being Republican? (Just ask Matthew Shepard)

Do they have to act "Democrat" around their friends?

Sorry, Zucker is an idiot, an asshat, and needs a mental enema.

Actually, let them get married if they want... or "uncivil unions" (since most of them are uncivil bastards).

In either case, there should be mandatory Repuke sterilization so they can't reproduce.

22. Totally inaccurate comparison.
Edited on Tue Sep-23-08 12:31 PM by the dogfish
Gay people are cool, talented, funny, fun, often have great fashion sense (except me) and those who want to settle down have a strong sense of family and values and want to preserve the sanctity of marriage by strengthening and expanding it.

Republicans are uptight, angry, z-list dorks on their fifth and sixth wives.

I'd rather be gay than Republican, but being gay wasn't a choice...
