A brief note to Senator John McCain
Edited on Fri Sep-26-08 06:48 AM by olshak
Senator McCain,

This will not be a long letter. There is no need for length to communicate this message.

You have modeled your campaign on “Country First,” but all of your actions demonstrate that it is truly “McCain First.” Because you lack substance on all major issues - namely by supporting the policies of a failed president - you have chosen to build a campaign on name-calling, lies, smoke and mirrors, character assassination, and manufacturing crises to distract the American people.

It is sickening to watch, and your conduct is unbecoming of a person wishing to become the leader of our nation. You have dishonored yourself and done a disservice to the American people.

Even if your campaign should be successful, your presidency would not be. This is clear based on your conduct, which has been characterized by over-reactions, temper tantrums, and a complete disregard of reality and ignorance of detail.

Senator, you have had two opportunities in the past six weeks to demonstrate your presidential leadership qualities. In the first case you chose Sarah Palin to serve as your running mate. Each day this move is being exposed for the tragic fraud that it is. Ms. Palin is in fact the least qualified person to ever have been nominated for the vice presidency. Her ascendancy to the presidency would be a disaster for the United States of America, the nation you profess to love.

In the second case, you have chosen - in one of our darkest economic hours - to place presidential politics ahead of the nation’s interests. Your inability to learn from your own unethical behavior in the Keating Five scandal has led you to conclude that de-regulation has stimulated the economy, despite all evidence to the contrary. Then today you grand-standed at a critical meeting, pushing an agenda that would be found acceptable to almost no one, and nearly single-handedly derailed constructive talks designed to resolve this crisis.

Senator McCain, if you have any honor left… if there is still a shred of decency left in you… please withdraw your candidacy for the presidency. Your service to this nation could best be continued with your retirement from the race and from the Senate. You are no longer fit to serve.

This letter was sent to the McCain campaign on September 25, 2008.

1. Great letter.
I think McCain's temperament and personality is best illustrated back in the days when he returned home, horrified at the sight of his overweight, crippled wife who had stood beside him while he was a POW.

Did you know John McCain was a POW? It's true, he was. :eyes:

He then had an affair with a younger heiress, and eventually dumped the old wife and family to start a new one. How's that for integrity? How's that for morals? How's that for a "Christian" man?

John McCain, like George Bush, is a small man. Small mind, short fuse, and never had to really work for anything in his life. He's not the typical American, and as such is totally out of touch with what Americans really need.

He's unfit for the Presidency.

Thanks for taking the time to write it, you are spot on.

2. Thanks for the note...
... you provide more examples of "McCain First" that I didn't even think about when I wrote this last night.

He's not fit to be Senator, let alone President.

3. His "Country First" slogan
is exactly like bush's crap slogans of "Clean Air", "Healthy Forests", etc. - the exact opposite.
