Would a scanner be able to pick up Palin's wire?
Assuming they want to try that debate stunt again.

I would assume that they would use something very low power and short range.

Not that anyone in the media or Democratic Party would think of exposing it.

2. You know that would be really hard to verbalize someone else's answers on the
fly like that. I'm not so sure it's doable.

14. Exactly. It's VERY difficult to translate audio in the ear to sensible speaking
even by highly intelligent humanoids. :-)

3. Not likely unless you are the NSA.....spread spectrum fequency hoppers are almost...
impossible to crack without serious hardware.

It uses frequency-hopping spread spectrum, low power, and some versions have good range. And yo can get it from Radio Shack!

9. I doubt they will try to wire her
She'd just get confused. Voices coming in from all directions. Overload her circuits. Does not compute. Does not compute. "I can see Russia from my house!!!"

The mind to nowhere couldn't handle it.

13. Yeah and now
she'll have to answer them. She'll get confused. Is this a voice from God? Is it the voice of my handler? Is it the voice of Gwen Ifill? Is Satan talking to me? Is it the ghost of a dinosaur roaring in my ear?

This could be quite entertaining. The audience will have to guess which voice she is answering to.

12. It would take a little practice
First to get her used to the idea that the voice is not God.

Second, not to shift her eyes while receiving.

Third, finding anybody trustworthy in the Republican party that can make any sense.

10. If they wire her, I'd think the most fun would be to...
..send a stronger signal with bizarre talking points.

16. If I was going to do something like that..
I'd probably avoid RF altogether and use IR..

Combine IR with spread spectrum and you'd have a system that would be very hard to detect.

Although when the voices in her earpiece heterodyne with the voice of the Baby Jeebus in her head, there's no telling what Palin is likely to start babbling.
