Trying to keep it to a 200 word limit was "hard work".
Big Oil’s new Bestfriend
Recently, the powers that be, the ones who have been controlling the republican party for years, -maybe decades, surprised us all (even John McCain), with their VP choice of Sarah Palin.
In my opinion, Sarah was chosen because she did “Big Oil” a BIG favor.
You see, there have been plans for an Alaskan gas pipeline that has been politically staled for thirty years; the price tag was huge, twenty-six BILLION dollars. Environmentalist fought the construction of this pipeline tooth and nail (almost as hard as republicans fought against raising the minimum wage).
Just prior to Palin signing on as McCain’s running mate, she approved that twenty-six billion dollar gas pipeline, but according to her RNC speech, the price tag jumped up to a whopping “forty billion dollars”.
Whether you’re for drilling here at home or against it, one thing is for sure, “Big Oil” found a new best friend in Sarah Palin.
Oh yes, before I forget, do you know who Sarah appointed (on the behalf of the American taxpayer) to over see the construction of this pipeline? Marty Rutherford, a former lobbyist for TransCanada, the company building the pipeline.
Go figure, we could have another champion for Big Oil in the White House.
