Who the heck is Michael Meehan?
Just saw the so-called Democratic spokesman on MSNBC explaining why Gonzalez should go. Of course the Repub spokesman emphasized that Bush can fire anyone he wants and that all presidents remove their DAs when they're elected.

Meehan lets him get away with that. He totally ignores the fact that no modern presidents have fired their prosecutors during their terms or when they're reelected. Clinton, Bush I and Reagan did not do it. It is extremely unusual to fire the DAs that you hired.

No mention of a political purge by Meehan. And he let the Repub frame the discussion. Of course the Repub said it was now an issue of whether the DOJ handled the firings right and were forthcoming with Congress.

Of course, the Repubs want all to focus on the issue as he states it. This is much much more than just whether DOJ officials weren't forthcoming to Congress.

And what did Meehan say in response? Nada.

Can't we ever get spokespeople who 1) know what they're doing; and 2) know the facts of the situation?

1. I don't know...........
I think, right now, that the US is so far down the road to empire and fascism that it is going to be almost impossible to fix.

The contamination of the environment by the US military machine should have the entire world up in arms, but it doesn't.........and I can't figure out why.
