It's just a guess. No expertise at all here.

2. Cramer says 7700

Personally... I think it bottoms out at 8500 on Nov 2nd. Then Obama's election causes a wave of optimism and it is up to 10000 by inaugaration day.

4. Wait 10 or 15 minutes.
Lately it drops some as the closing bell sells are calculated.

I don't see how we can turn this around now. SOme are saying it could get to 5000-6000. *shudder*

14. 8750...
....is a 40% pullback from the highs.

That's pretty typical for a bear bottom.

5. I don't believe anyone really knows.
This morning, on CNBC, several "experts" (I didn't see who they were, I was getting ready for work), said they feel we're nearing the bottom. Today's loss just takes us that much lower.

It's apparent the bailout hasn't given the market what it's needed to see. I think Americans have been had by their leaders. Again. :(

8. Credit card debt hasn't even factored that much into this yet
Wait until credit dries up. Many folks are living off of credit card debt. It's got a ways to go, imo.

10. re: I think Americans have been had by their leaders. Again.
When corporations write legislation, it usually means we the people are getting screwed.

6. Jeez! I turn around to read the Cooking & Baking Group for a while and the Market plunged
That was really fast. Last I looked at it, it was down over 300. I look away for a few minutes and the damned thing took a dive.

I guess that was some wild trading in the last 1/2 hour.

12. Me too! and we're coming up on the anniversay of over 14,000! Hard
to believe. I was hoping for some stabilization today. I thought the bailout was supposed to give us enough 'confidence' that this day after day falling would stop. Scary.

Edited on Tue Oct-07-08 03:12 PM by lib2DaBone
Bernake on the Bailout Bill, " The American Taxpayers may come out ahead or behind on this bill, it's hard to tell." GEE.... YA THINK? Since when has voting for ANYTHING BUSH proposed EVER lead to anything good for the taxpayer?
