Anyone here remember Dandy Don Meredith on Monday Night Football?

It's time to sing "Turn Out the Lights, the Party's Over" to John McLame.

It's time for him to go back to one of his houses and have a good cry. :eyes:

1. For years that was a MNF highlight for me.
I used to love it when he'd start doing scales a little before his little seranade.

PEACE!

3. I'm from Mt. Vernon High School, same age as Dandy Don
and I'll sing for all of us DU'ers. Turn out the lights, McLame, the partys over. Thanks.

4. I remember a Houston fan near the end of another loss giving the finger to the camera.
Dandy Don said the guy was just showing in his own way that Houston was #1.

6. ROFL
That's why we all loved him. Same as all funny Texas people like Molly Ivins, Ann Richards and Jim Hightower. Texans sure know how to turn a phrase.

8. The game was a blowout. The stands were near empty. The camera focused and stayed on the guy.
Somebody had to say something.

Dandy Don filled the void.

5. Yep, it's rather appropriate right now.
Obama was magnificent. The fact that McLame used the phrase "that one" and the fact that he wouldn't shake Obama's hand at the end has sunk McCain's boat.

Please excuse the spelling errors, I'm in Ireland right now and it's really early over here.

9. I just heard one of the well known RW Radio Hatemongers in full desperation mode.

I won't mention his name and give him free advertising.

But his voice is up around two octaves and he sounds like he is part of the Titanic crew.

He literally said "Don't panic! Don't panic!" I'm ROFLOL here.
