But, they're going to do their utmost to Carterize/Clintonize Obama's Presidency starting now to make it easier
in 2012.

8. That's what they're starting to think about
They shouldn't get too excited yet. First of all, between now and 2012 is 2010. They will have to see what happens then.

The biggest challenge for the GOP is to retool. They cannot run another campaign as Brand W Republicans. It may take them so long to shed their image of the party of Bush that they may actually be looking to 2016 rather than 2012. Getting a new crop of candidates with new ideas in the class of 2010 will be the key for them. In any case, it looks like they're going to be spending some some awful long, cold nights in the political wilderness in the years to come.
