That McCain once again, rarely looked at Obama throughout the debate. MSNBC was saying how it would be harder for McCain to attack and/or ignore Obama with the format, but he managed to avoid looking at him for much of the debate. He would shoot a glance every so often, but mostly look off into the crowd or walk around, or fidget. Whenever McCain would speak Obama would follow him as manners would dictate that you follow and maintain eye contact with a speaker. McCain rarely returned the courtesy. Even when making the infamous, "That One" remark he could not make eye contact.

That just screams, "I have no class, no manners, and no honor!!" to me.

The walking around, the fidgeting, and the rank sarcasm were all of a piece with that. Of course he wouldn't look at Obama--he was about to bust a gusset just being there.

I could scarcely stand to watch him.

3. Poor Old John McCain's Handlers

told him that he simply HAD to look at President Obama now and then during the debate, so he forced himself to do it a couple of times. Talk about some sour expressions! I've seen happier faces on colonoscopy patients.

Once when Obama was addressing the audience, McCain got up and turned his back while he shuffled about. They say you never see the bus that you're being thrown under...

4. Obama infuriates him with his sanguine expression and the fact that he's winning

McBush's delicate ego can't handle it. He would explode if he spent 20 seconds looking at Obama.

5. again we see the contrast in style - an indication of how each would lead

obama - calm and reassuring

reminds me of my parent's dog, Freida. Freida was a dachshund. My parents were at a horse show. They had Freida with them.

It started raining, they took shelter in a barn. Barns were lined up in a series of rows. They stood just inside, near a barn door. Across from them was another barn, that door was also open, and a great dane was standing there.

Freida let loose with lots of barking, pulling at the lead. The great dane just stood there, calmly looking at the her.

A barn worker strolled by, looked at Freida, looked at the great dane and said to my parents "she's either very brave or very stupid"

with mccain in his current attack-attack-attack mode - I suspect if the same were said about him, most would agree he's very stupid

not stupid in terms of intellect - but rather in terms of his judgement and decisions
