I hate to keep harping on this, but I think it's their master plan.

And I'm afraid the right-wing media is just getting started....

Wait til this is all we hear everyday for the entire week before the election...

I think the Dem leadership was foolish to pass the bailout (as it really didn't and will not fix the problem).

However, they could introduce a bill that would allocate the money to:

Building a new sustainable energy economy based on renewable fuels.

Prosecuting the CEO's who got us into this mess.

Bailing out mortgage holders by restructuring loans.

Nationalizing one of the oil companies.

Putting the money into creating single-payer not-for-profit health care.

Building a socialized infrastructure similar to the enlightened European social democracies.

Removing the ability of Bush/Paulson to touch the money.

Or simply pass a bill that kills the bailout - it will make us look like we are actually paying attention to the wishes of the majority of Americans.
