I just caught the last few minutes of Keith, and then Scarborough comes on and starts talking about the WH being caught in some lies. Holy shit ... what the hell has happened today? Did Leahey change his mind and subpoena Rove after all?

Help a girl out, will yah? Please?

Edit to add:
No word on subpoenaing Rove yet, though his involvement, RE: e-mails, came out late in the day. Expect fireworks of some sort tomorrow.

7. Not so fast, if this is accurate:
http://freeinternetpress.com/story.php?sid=10907

The Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday authorized the use of subpoenas to compel the testimony of five Justice Department officials as part of an investigation into the firing of eight U.S. attorneys, but the panel put off a vote on subpoenas for top White House aides, including senior political adviser Karl Rove.

Meeting in an executive session, the 19-member committee voted to authorize the issuing of 11 subpoenas - five for Justice Department officials involved in the firings and six for U.S. attorneys who were dismissed last year in the controversial purge. The subpoena authority gives the panel a fall-back position in case any of the current and former officials refuse to testify voluntarily or Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales reconsiders his pledge to let his subordinates appear before the committee.

Some Democratic lawmakers and at least one Republican senator have called on Gonzales to resign over the firings, which critics have charged were politically motivated and carried out in a deceitful manner that involved false claims of poor performance and misleading statements to Congress.

10. Nope, hasn't happened if Google "news" is accurate. Most current
that I could find:
http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/nation/20070315-1704-gonzales-prosecutors.html

WASHINGTON – Republican support for Attorney General Alberto Gonzales eroded further Thursday amid an intensifying furor over his role in federal prosecutor firings, as new e-mails surfaced indicating that top White House political adviser Karl Rove had an early hand in the dismissals.

A Senate panel approved subpoenas for Justice Department officials Thursday in a probe of the firings. Subpoenas for President Bush's top aides, including Rove, could come next week.

A Rove subpoena would make my day, but I haven't heard that it's happened yet.

5. Now that's what I'm talking about!
:woohoo:

I worked extra hours today so I would be around tomorrow to see the Plame hearing, so I have been well out of the loop for too many hours. Not even any good radio news now that AAR is gone from Boston, so I had no clue what was going on.

I will make sure to mark my calendar when they release the date and time of this hearing too.

Is there enough popcorn in the world, or what?

9. Then we owe you our thanks. ^_^
It's like washing your car makes it rain.

You being "out of the loop" caused all manner of fine things to come to pass.

Thanks, Sydnie! ~~chortle~~

13. Hey, as far as *I'm* concerned, we're all in this together!
:hi:

I've never understood those who seem afraid to share their "notes". We can't all be everywhere.

Speaking of which... did you see Sapphire's latest thread?
It could use some of the K&R action... :hi:

15. Done and done
I just love her threads. She keeps me level and grounded with her posts.

You going to be with us tomorrow for the Plame hearing? I can't wait. Don't know if I'll be able to sleep just thinking about it. I am down right giddy with anticipation!

16. Your faithfulness with her threads is so appreciated!
Those of us who are suffering this shit are so appreciative of the few of you who care!!

I'm hoping I'll be able to see it. I'm trying to get things ready for recording, but I don't know how much time I'll have available. This is history to be cherished! Giddy, indeed!

I try not to get too many hopes up, because .... well, these last several years have frayed my hopes, to say the least.

What I hope is that finally the 'Murkin people are awakened to what is happening to their country!! That would be the real payoff, for me!

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow, and hoping that this is what you have waited for!!

Oh, and don't forget to wash your car...~~gigglesnort~~

18. I, like many, am just one paycheck from ruin myself
a far cry from where I was when the Big Dog was in DC for sure. If those of us that are tetering on the edge form a big enough chain, then no one can slip over the edge, can they? After all, it's the right thing to do and as I tell my kids, you do the right thing not because it's easy, but because it needs doing.

I will be thinking of you tomorrow too. I'll pm you with a link to the first official thread (I call dibs on starting it NOW) so you can check out "my notes" when you have a chance.

14. Leahy and Waxman have spines.
I'm a bit disappointed with Conyers lately, but...

BTW, don't forget to call the offices of Leahy and Waxman, and thank them and their staff for all their hard work! You can be sure they're getting plenty of hate mail, and would appreciate a good "attaboy"!

17. I will certainly make that call tomorrow
I have an hour or so to kill waiting for the hearing to start and will need something fruitful to fill the time with. This is a good plan. Thanks for suggesting it.

22. Thanks! I really enjoyed my call to Waxman's office, and also to
Diane Watson (must be something in those "W's"...ooops...)

The staff seemed to enjoy being thanked, also. I told them, "It's clear that if they didn't have a great staff, they wouldn't be able to do what they're doing."

I even choked up when speaking with Watson's staff... but it was a *nice* choke. ~~chortle~~

23. As I said in my reply to Sydnie, it was great talking to their staff people!
I'm sure that they were also getting hate calls, and they did appreciate being remembered for their efforts as staff.

We need them to be getting these calls of thanks!

How did yours go?
