The NEW Air America Radio Hires a VP of Programming
from an Air America email:

We are proud to announce the first hire of the new Air America -- David Bernstein will join the network as Vice President of Programming. Mr. Bernstein is a 32-year radio veteran, having held programming and news management positions at leading stations such as WOR, WBZ, WRKO, and WDBO. David is just the Rx that the doctor ordered. He has a successful track record of over two decades of building ratings and branding talk radio. Because his ability to work with high profile talent is unparalleled, David will be a vital part of Air America 2.0.

1. AAR's first priority should be getting Hartmann on affiliates
losing the primetime spot to Ed Schultz is unacceptable. They need to court these station owners.
Interrupting the AAR lineup with schultz' unprofessional, ill-informed, right-leaning brand of "progressivism" causes the audience to tune out and hurts aar's evening lineup.l

7. I actually jumped out in the middle of a shower today right after
Rachel Maddow's show ended to turn off the radio so I wouldn't have to listen to Schultz who follows her on my affiliate. I really can't stomach him.

2. I call BS
If this guy is 32 and has two decades working in the business, then he started working when he was 12. I don't think so. That's some pretty serious resume stuffing.

3. I think it mean 32 years in radio work.
I read it again...it is poorly worded.

4. I hope this guy 'gets it' more than the last crop, who cut Mike Malloy and Mark Maron

What were they thinking? I heard Mike say the talent at AAR was made up of good and committed liberals. The management, not so much. Please, Mr. Bernstein, please have a lot of guts and integrity, and know how to make AAR succeed. And please, please, please go after the perpetrators of THIS:

5. They need a VP of streaming.
It's the only way to listen in Philly and the stream just isn't coming in. Very frustrating.
