.... it became even more clear in watching Joe Biden live from New Hampshire this morning. (No, I haven't just discovered Biden.)
He was calm. He smiled. he had a sense of humor. He was speaking, not shouting. He said stuff about McCain, but said it much more low key and with not a hint of bile. He did simialrly to Palin. He mocked the debate he had with her, but not an an attacking way.
It all got across to his audience.
Obama is the same way.
Contrast that with the other side.
Stuttering and ricocheting.
Shrill and sarcastic in the extreme. Obviously calculating. Painfully ambitious.
But really, the main word to describe them if hateful. Hateful and hate filled and hate inducing. Yeah, they say they've turned down the rhetoric. Sorry, kids, but that train has left the station.
The contrast is sharp as I have ever seen.
Why doesn't everyone?
Honestly? Why doesn't everyone?
I think we all know why. The battle for votes is now centered on the "near backwash" ..... the ignorant but non-hateful people who read too much e-mail and talk to too many people and are incapable of making up their own minds. They're the malleable, the manipulable, moldable.
