OMG! -- What New Nightmare Have they Wrought?
Edited on Mon Oct-13-08 01:24 PM by BushDespiser12
I awake this morning to the newly appointed treasury czar speaking in machine gun, staccato-like bursts of breathy blurbs.
Who is this moran, I ponder. He looks eerily familiar...

Oh my freaking gawd! It's a veritable bald headed Mini-Me clone of Paulson, freshly hatched from the Goldmine-Saks crook factory, and get this...! His name is -- wait for it -- CashNCarry Kashkari!!!!

CashCarry -- 1 Trillllion Dollars...

Nooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!11!

2. JHC, the guy's barely out of school!!
http://www.sajaforum.org/2008/10/kashkari-first.html

Mr. Kashkari, who has only six years of experience in finance and government, said he knew he seemed young to be shouldering so much responsibility for the world’s financial stability. But, he said, Mr. Paulson will oversee every step he takes.

“This project is Secretary Paulson’s highest priority,” Mr. Kashkari said in an interview on Wednesday. “He is all over it. Our team is just executing his strategy.”

Even so, some experts question whether Mr. Kashkari is up to the job.

Samuel L. Hayes, an emeritus professor of finance at Harvard Business School, said Mr. Kashkari will face tremendous pressures. If the Treasury Department pays too little for troubled loans, that will not help banks’ balance sheets, but if it pays too much, it will attract fierce scrutiny from members of Congress and others convinced that the bailout is a giveaway to the rich, he said.

“It’s amazing to me that a guy who is only six years out of business school has been given this kind of assignment, because it would be an enormous challenge for someone with 30 years of experience,” Mr. Hayes said.

..........

Oh, and in case there's any doubt about what made him perfect for the job: "I'm a free-market Republican."—Kashkari, at an American Enterprise Institute conference, Sept. 19, 2008

4. Thank you for the reply.
I thought it was only me that found this selection to be another absurd farce. The level of hubris, and outright disdain for the citizenry in making this choice, is astonishing. Thank you for providing the background of this newly minted neophyte.

6. Here's more I just posted to another thread
I get more appalled the more I read, although there isn't a lot.

Kashkari is 35 years old. He worked at NASA before changing careers and attending Wharton Business School at U of PA. He got his MBA (small blessings) and joined Goldman Sachs in San Francisco, specializing in IT security. Then he followed Paulson to the Treasury Dept where he was hired as a senior adviser in 2006.

Two years later he's our "bailout czar".

Thank you for piquing my curiosity and my ire.

9. Balderdash. Kashkari is more than qualified for the job.
I'm sure that he's held a dollar bill in his hand before. Therefore, under Palin rules, he's qualified!

3. Isn't this part of the Republican manifesto?
Get some young guy who doesn't know jack to be the head of the thing. He's actually a puppet of the older, more experienced person who will be advising him (telling him what to do).

If it works, they yell "HOORAY".

If it doesn't (likely), they'll scapegoat the young guy, while the older guy gets out of Dodge.

7. Right in line with selecting Monica Goodling and
Bradley Schlozman. They will never stop until we purge their whole corrupt administration.

13. He was on the front page of the Stow Sentry,
a local rag from a small Ohio suburb that aspires to be like its more affluent and elite neighbor, Hudson.

The headline was "Local Boy Done Good", or something to that effect.
