Valerie Plame is a Democrat!!
She was asked by that repuke at the hearing what political party she belonged to. She didn't want to answer at first but then she probably thought, what the hell. It made me very happy and proud that she is a Democrat. For all we know, she could have been a Republican that switched to an Independent after her outing. What was done to her was wrong whether she was a republican or a Democrat!

2. What party were Rove, Cheney & Libby members of?
Hmmm- so they targeted a Democratic CIA officer- makes sense.

but, it seems from her testimony, that he switched parties after the Bush Republics screwed him and his wife.

5. my favorite moment of the hearing...
When she said she was a Democrat, she didn't say it in a wimpy, milquetoast kind of way - she threw her head back and gave a big grin to the Repuke and said it loud 'n proud! Loved it!

12. Of course she it. She doesn't believe in outing a covert operative thereby severely harming
national security in order to discredit a person spouse.

"Just what are you IMPLYING?!"

"And what relevance does this have on these hearings?"

"Are you confirming that YOUR REPUKE pResident was selectively PERSECUTING legitimate DEMOCRATIC employees of OUR Government for PURELY POLITCAL REASONS like you are now trying to do?!"

God, can't ANYBODY throw bombshells like this?!?!?!

15. Yes, and I think it's sad that this has come up.
Why? Two reasons, one practical and one idealistic.

(1) Because her political affiliation led her to make public political contributions, it was a trivial task to connect Valerie Plame to Brewster Jennings; all it took was a simple Google search to find it. Brewster Jennings was an obvious front company; combined with "CIA Agent Valerie Wilson", it said "CIA analyst Valerie Wilson = covert agent Plame". Sans that link, Mrs. Wilson simply was a modern woman who preserved her maiden name for some purposes, just as Mrs. Igil does.

(2) Her political affiliation played right into the dominant spring/summer '03 RW narrative: partisan dems in the CIA and State were undermining *, since he wasn't *their* president. Mrs. Wilson donated to Gore, as did Mr. Wilson. Mr. Wilson was dubbed a 'Democratic operative', who worked behind-the-scenes to feed anti-Iraq-war op-eds for months before he wrote his own. Undermining Wilson was, IMO, the most likely motivation for saying Mrs. Wilson worked for the CIA.

RWers knew she was a dem by 8/03--it was part of their public story ... and the only reason anybody knew she was a dem was her donations to Gore.

"Congressman, I am a registered Democrat, but I am an American first! Can you make a similar claim?"
