GEORGIA VOTER INFORMATION IMPORTANT VOTER INFORMATION FROM THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY OF GEORGIA
Almost 2,000,000 Georgia voters have made their voices heard already, but over 3,000,000 voters could be voting tomorrow. If you're planning to vote tomorrow, here are a few tips to help you out.
What time does my polling location open and close? Polling locations open at 7:00 am and stay open until 7:00 pm. Even if there's a long line at 7:00 pm, hang in there! As long as you are in line by 7:00 pm, you will be allowed to vote.
Where do I vote? You can find your polling location by clicking here.
How long will the lines be? Across the state, many polling locations will see only minor to moderate delays, but if you live in a high turnout area, come prepared to wait in line.
What can I bring with me? You can bring water and snacks, if you anticipate a long wait, as well as a good book or magazine to read. Some polling locations may have lines that extend out of the building, so check your local weather forecast to see if you need to bring an umbrella or warm clothes. Also, Georgia's Voter ID law is in effect, so remember to bring one of the accepted forms of photo ID in order to vote. These include:
A Georgia driver’s license, even if expired. Any valid state or federal government issued photo ID, including a free Voter ID Card issued by your county registrar or Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS). Valid U.S. passport. Valid employee photo ID from any branch, department, agency, or entity of the U.S. Government, Georgia, or any county, municipality, board, authority, or other entity of this state. Valid U.S. military photo ID. Valid tribal photo ID.
What can't I bring with me? Please do not bring campaign literature, buttons, or posters or wear clothing, stickers, or buttons that advertises for the candidate or candidates of your choice.
For voters over age 75, or who need special assistance: If you are over 75 years of age, or if you need special assistance, please find a poll worker upon arrival at your polling place. You will be allowed to vote without waiting in line.
I forgot to mail in my absentee ballot! What do I do? If you still have an unused absentee ballot, just bring it in person to your polling location on Tuesday before 7pm. The poll workers will cancel that one and give you a different ballot to vote with.
I requested an absentee ballot, but it still hasn't shown up! If you requested a ballot but it never came, you can go to the Board of Elections and have them cancel your ballot. They will call your polling location and let them know that you are eligible to vote.
If you encounter problems voting: Please call our election assistance hotline at 877-442-6226 (For Spanish speakers, please call 888-544-2536). Our team will be standing by to help voters across the state. I didn't KNOW disabled people would be taken to the head of the line! I don't know if they do that in other States, but it's worth checking!
I mailed my absentee ballot weeks ago, but I didn't know if anyone hasn't, they must take it to their polling place so it can be voided and you can vote in person.
I realize this is GD and not just Ga. but if the highlighted points might be applicable in other States, I thought it was important to get that info out TONIGHT!!!!
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! TOMORROW'S PARTY TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
