I live in Austin, Texas, the blue dot in the sea of red...
in my office over these past 14 years, we dems here have had to whisper in the hallways for fear of being outed by repukes.

Now as I sit here at my desk, two red red racist repuke morons...whisper. LOL

how they are hoping against hope, coming up with all sorts of reasons why Obama can't and won't win.

So amusing.

1. Ha ha! Hey man, you shouldn't have EVER had to whisper in Austin. I'm a San Marcos
native, former Austin resident, and am in SM again, having moved back 2+ years ago to care for my mother, and am now about to go back to school (in the spring). ROCK ON, win Travis, and I'm thinking - maybe I'm crazy - we might actually win Hays too.

2. I lived in Austin for 22 years starting in 1967...
I can't remember a time when I had to whisper around a Repuke... in fact, I didn't even know any personally except for a rare acquaintance or two, LOL!!

7. There are definitely a few red islands around here these days,
but most of them live in Round Rock and Cedar Park, the northern suburbs. My neighborhood is awash in Obama yard signs. I lived in Austin 1967-71, then moved back in 2004. All the other hippies had grown up too, but there are still enough of us around to leaven the bread.

But you just watch: this year marks the beginning of the democrats' return to power here. I just wish I could call it the return of the liberals. Real liberals in TX have always been rare birds.

5. They did not whisper here...
Edited on Tue Nov-04-08 12:30 PM by Wayzom
I am traveling and working in an office in Georgia. They do not feel the need to whisper, but if they knew how ridiculous they sound...

"Obaaama not gonna win any states, none at all"

"I have sources that say the internal polls show McCain winning California and Neck-and-Neck in New York"

8. I've lived in Austin twice
and never had to whisper around pukes. It used to be the other way around. Sorry to hear it's so changed.

Lordy, I miss Austin. In a lot of ways, I "grew up" there; it was my first home when I came home from Europe after getting out of the Army. Loved its blue and open-minded ways. It was easy to be "out" if someone managed to "figure me out", nobody freaked on it. The music, the food, always something to do. Years later, when I got a chance to move back, I did. Pity the company I went to work for didn't last, so I was gone again.

There are lots of good Blue folks left, though. I know a few at St Edwards, and a few around town, still. Hang in! Tomorrow, the pukes aren't going to know where to stick themselves, heh!

10. I love Austin....my daughter goes to UT Austin
so I get to go down there once in a while...The first time I went down there we saw a guy walking along Guadalupe St. with a t-shirt that had only 2 words on it. In huge font. FUCK BUSH.

I'm thinking there will be a lot more blue dots around the state this time around. DFW area, Houston, hopefully all of the Tex-Mex border. .

You guys (Travis County) are supposed to see and 85% turnout (least that is what the Austin media has been saying).

11. It's fun watching them squirm
The one truly red person in our office who is social enough to be a know Republican has been trying to convince us (and herself, I think) that McCain might win. She keeps making very errrrr, imaginative, electoral maps.
