I'm not going to even get mad...although I probably should
It actually even made me chuckle.
We discuss politics around my house fairly frequently. However, I think my 5-year old granddaughter is too young to be burdened with politics so we take care not to get too upset or say too much about any of the candidates within earshot.
I know that her teacher is a Republican. I don't have a problem with that.
I know this because she came home one day and told me George Bush was our President and he was a nice man.
I asked where she heard this from and she told me her teacher. I actually laughed and told her that I thought he was a very bad man but not to tell her teacher I said that.
Anyway...fast forward to today.
She told me she voted today. My interest was piqued and I said "Really? Who did you vote for".
She told me that her teacher told me her vote was secret.
I told her that I voted today as well and I voted for Obama.
She said "Who is that?"
So...I have in my mind a picture of a teacher indoctrinating 5-year olds by giving them ballots with only McCain's name on it and "letting" them vote for President.
I wonder if the teacher has a substitute lined up for tomorrow after her head explodes?

3. I actually really like her teacher
and I don't want to start anything.

6. You're a fine American to rise above
I mean that. :patriot:

The other day I passed a bunch of homophobes demonstrating for the anti gay marriage amendment here in Florida. I flashed back on all the middle fingers and vulgarities shouted at me as I protested Bush's illegal war. I managed to restrain myself to a very polite "thumbs down."

2. I remember those days...
My daughter is now 15 and in high school. Her global teacher discussed the election with the class yesterday and with statements about watching John Stewart and Keith Olberman, I take it she's on our site. LOL

5. Most teachers are smart in realizing that Obama OVERWHELMING
represents their interests. This is one of the stupid ones. We had a mock election in my high school, where I work, and out of 2200+ kids, 2000 voted obama, and around 200 voted McCain. Hope this shines through for our youth.

7. Maybe they got to choose candidates like "Daddy" and "Me!"
instead of just chosing between the two real ones?
