Coleman's lead over Franken keeps dwindling... Someone please explain how this is happening.
According to CNN and the Star Tribune, Franken is a mere 236 votes behind Norm Coleman, but I was under the impression all ballots, including absentees had been counted. How, then, does Franken keep gaining day by day?

Is it plausible Franken gains the lead before a recount occurs?

3. Wouldn't it be funny if he pulled ahead BEFORE a recount?
Bonus points for O'Lielly's head exploding since he has already gloated.

4. I think that before the recount starts, the SoS has called for a check of the totals per district
They're checking the totals and confirming them with the SoS's office. And they're finding more votes for Franken apparently.

12. That's essentially what is happening.
They're still rechecking the election night totals in preparation of the official tally.

14. Yesterday on MPR they were discussining possible changes before the recount began
and Richie did say it's not unusual to find a number has been transposed and that kind of thing gets caught at this point in the process.

Has anyone noticed how much Normie's total has changed? I've been watching the difference but haven't paid a lot of attention to how things have changed for the weasel-boy.

24. Coleman's lost nearly 500 votes since he told Al to concede.
Al essentially told him to take a flying leap.

15. Sez Norm
"The prospects of overcoming 725 votes is extremely, extremely, extremely, extremely remote," said Coleman, speaking at his campaign office in St. Paul late morning.

"If you ask me what I would do, I would step back," said Coleman.

Get that? Extremely, extremely, extremely, extremely remote.

That's one of the lamest attempts at psyching an opponent I've ever heard. Norm was already crapping his pants when he said that.

9. He may pull ahead before the recount even begins
For 2,860,225 total a 236 vote difference represents 0.0083%

This race is way inside the MOE for the voting system used.

There are 4,130 precincts. A single vote flip in 3% of the precincts has Franken ahead.

http://www.startribune.com/politics/state/34024274.html

The latest unofficial results collected by the Minnesota Secretary of State's Office of Tuesday's vote now show Coleman with a 236-vote lead over Franken. That's down from 725 Wednesday morning.

The Secretary of State's Office website has adjusted those numbers several times since Tuesday night, most often tightening the gap. The official tally will come once the state canvassing board meets Nov. 18. Then the recount follows.

The difference will continue to change slightly over the next week or two as counties go back and double-check their figures, the office has said.

Seriously, there are usually errors discovered when totals from all the precincts are double-checked.
