The MSM has successfully minimized the Plame hearings, and parade delay and Perle on MTP

So this is where we are today

The MSM outed and discredited a CIA agent who told them that Iraq did NOT have WMDs. Make no mistake about it, IT WAS THE MSM WHO OUTED THIS AGENT, with their source was the administration.

Is it any wonder that they continue to perpetuate the myth that she was not covert, and their was NOTHING new it what she said?

In fact, it is no longer a news item...

When the mantra says support our troops, what does that mean?

We have invaded a country based on a lie, killed and destroyed their homes and families.

Many say we support the troops by demanding that they be brought home, but even the Democrats in Congress are completely unified on that issue.

Five years from now when we are still in Iraq, what are we going to hear, and what will their excuse be then?

If a foreign power invaded us, overthrew our government, and tried to setup a new government, I have no doubt that we would be united against that foreign power, and fight them, until they were forced out.

Why is impeachment off the table?

1. Three letters
M-I-C

Eisenhower warned of it and his prophecy has come to pass. The alarming consolidation of media (and with it, the message) is just a part of it.

"If a foreign power invaded us, overthrew our government, and tried to setup a new government, I have no doubt that we would be united against that foreign power, and fight them, until they were forced out."

Absolutely. I don't like Bush, but if some country invaded us with the purpose of overthrowing him and replacing him with someone more, well, democratic, I imagine that I'd be working right alongside my Freeper friend to oppose the outside intervention. And if the same country prevented all the Protestants from holding higher office and appointed Catholics in their place, I imagine there would be a great deal of animosity between Protestants and Catholics that might even deteriorate into civil war if conditions were bad enough.

4. Actually, Eisenhower called it Military -Congressional- Industrial Complex
an Eisenhower historian mentioned that on the radio a year or two back.

But in his public speech he left out the 'Congressional'.

3. The MSM is COMPLICIT in the crimes of this WH - They have done this on EVERY issue for
the last 6 years.

I suppose the Dem party will now twist it all into being Wilson and Plame's fault - as they did to Gore, as they did to Cleland, as they did to Dan Rather, as they did to Dean, as they did to Kerry, as they're doing to Murtha and Pelosi, as they do to EVERY Dem figure in EVERY issue that comes up.

Democratic leaders WON'T call out the corpmedia to blame for their COMPLICIT ACTIONS on ALL issues important to Democrats.

6. I wonder just how dangerous this consolidating of the media is to the US?
If we were invaded by a foreign power, all they would have to do is tell a few corporations what to spew forth and they would have it. The corporate media would gladly repeat a foreign invader's message, as long as they could make money from it. They could easily control America by bribing and subjugating a handful of corrupt opportunists. It's a scary thought.

11. It is the *most* dangerous
of the many appalling things that have happened since 2000. It's the reason the sheeple have been so placid until recently. You have to go out and *find* the real news, rather than have it shoved in your face, like it or not. I know the MSM has never been perfect, and that it *is* possible to get information, even now, but I think there's a lot to be said for reasonably good major newspapers and network news.

14. Yes, but little blonde white girls are endangered
The media don't have time to cover the itty bitty Iraq invasion or all that boring democracy stuff with any semblance of balance when there are far more pressing issues afoot.

20. We HAVE been invaded by a foreign entity that controls our media. House of Saud
and House of Murdoch aligned with House of Bush to control the US media and thereby control its government and resources.

The BFEE is not an American entity - it is an international crime ring with global fascists at the helm.

7. I noticed that as well
There has been no mention of Plame on any Sunday talk shows. I'm gay and I think Don't Ask, Don't Tell is far less deserving of attention this weekend than Plame. But here's John McLaughlin focusing on DADT.

13. lookit the 'gulf of tonkin' incident...
the mass media ignored or poohpoohed the claim that the gulf of tonkin incident, which was necessary for the Vietnam war to get going, was a fake...and the msm kept denying it until reagan era when of a sudden it became accepted fact that, darn it, the gulf of tonkin incident was indeed staged (by over zealous anti commies who thought blah blah blah, and by greedy corporate war profiteers and by gullible media acting in good faith blah blah etc) The reagan era finally made it ok to admit that there was no excuse to wage war on N Vietnam, ALLTHOUGH we coulda won the war anyway, nudgewink, had not liberals and media not stabbed the US in back etc...
The simple fact is that modern news media can make yes=no, wrong=right, small=huge and so on, by dint of nationwide repetition IF it's in the interests of those who own/operate the news. That's why a 2 bit cheerleader like junyer (and also remember reagan was once a lifeguard/male model) can get put in highest elective office on earth! It's the 'Great Game' only played on the homefront, and the suicidal incompetance of the gg players surely has to catch up to them someday! In 'US versus John Lennon' watch gordon liddy, a old nixon crankster, saying in affect that John was inspiring people 'we' don't like and ...blah blah blah! imagine the frigging gall of someone who, 27 years after John Lennon's senseless murder(?) will still publicly gloat over the danger Mr Lennon was in, no matter how famed or well loved he was! imagine! And while liddy is a contemptable nobody to the great game players, he does personify the utter bankrupcy of their logic: for example global warming is a fact and investing vast sums in creating doubts about it seems self defeating if the game players have kids or grandkids, isn't it? China and India can use the sexed up stats to postpone their economies stopping the poison, if they so desire. What shabby little benefits does exxon or gulf/western etc get from it, sorta like a death camp commandant (ie hans frank) making lotsa money selling fuel to the doomed inmates!
It was called 'the great game' when the imperialists carved up Africa and parts of Asia etc, installing totally corrupt governments in power and destroying the spirit of entire peoples, in the interests of power. 911 was, like the murder of JFK, just a chessmove in the "Great Game' and their primary tool pulling them off is the media, which is lately starting to look absolutely sickening as it does as told...

16. the msm has NEVER clarified a mistaken stand....
Never! it allows untruths to fester (and resents the 'CT' crowd for suspecting that misinforming the people wasn't the ulterior motive of the 'error' in the first place) all my post was saying is that the nonsense about gulf/tonkin never got mentioned (at least i never heard it publicly mentioned) until when it didn't matter anymore ie in the reagan era

18. I thought it was brilliant to put Delay and Perle on TV, especially with 2 even tempered anti-war
congressmen, one who is a retired admirial. The two anti-war, anti-surge congressmen looked like the very voice of reason against the surley Cheney look-a-like Perle who came off as black and evil. Delay just looked hysterical. He couldn't say anything but "they will come after us here" which sounds stupid now.

Delay and Perle clearly lost that one. The two anti-war congressmen were unemotional, rational, reasonable, and they knew what they were talking about. When the navy guy gave the example of G Washington pulling back from a battle he was losing, it looked like Perle's head was going to explode.

It would have been much worse had our side been represented by people who got emotional and lost their cool (like I do on this subject). Delay and Perle looked like the evil bullies they are. Our side won BIG yesterday.

The MSM should keep bringing out the worst on them. They crash and burn everytime. Keep those few members of the GOP who are willing to say Bush is incompetent or who have moments of rational thought off TV. The more I listened to Delay and Perle the more I thought "eveyone in America has to be thinking, why are we listening to these guys, they were wrong about everything else about Iraq!"
