Thom Hartmann Mentioned Today That After Tax Cuts America Has Seen...
a recession or depression. Not what conservatives keep claiming... the interesting thing is we saw that with Bush... he cut taxes for the wealthy and guess what happened?

EXACTLY... (hello Republicans??? Do you get it yet???????)

He stated however that after taxes were raised on a federal level, the economy had mainly prospered.

I wish I knew where he got the info from. Can anyone else confirm this?

1. Ravi Batra is the economist TH has on all of the time.
RB http://www.ravibatra.com/ has written a very scathing book about Alan Greenspan, who is the main proponent of less Federal taxes.

I'm sure Paul Krugman also has some things to say about this issue.

3. as I posted on this forum today. we need to revisit the Tax Reform Act of 1986.
time to disavow this bullshit voodoo economics experiment. It doesn't work. American consumers, small biz people, and the spenders are the engine in this economy. Rein in the speculators and the money movers, stop making the stock market the end all be all for the economy, and let the economy work the way it's designed to.

Honestly... I'm part of a group of people that receive queries from journalists every day.. lots of them. ANd the thing that is so starkly obvious, is how much the media is to blame for the economic issues, as well. They set the tone. There is a handful that follow the economic stories, but the majority, from my experience, find stories to fit THEIR supposition about the economy thereby perpetuating it and driving down consumer confidence.

5. I Have to Ask You....
can you point me to books or info for someone with very little knowledge in economics? That someone is me of course... I really want to arm myself with the truth. It is time for a massive push-back.
