1. I just heard it could take another week...
talk about the molecules moving slower in colder weather.... maybe they should send the ballots southward!

4. They're waiting for the last of the mail-ins
which must be received before next Wednesday. My guess is we have a lot of overseas voters with deployments, etc. We should have a significant update though, by the time today's counting is finished. I just wish they'd update the data a little more often. I'm checking about every half hour, but there's been no movement yet today.

3. in past elections, the alaska vote hasn't been finalized until early december
its a big, spread out state and just getting the absentee ballots delivered from the hinterlands can take a couple of weeks.

5. You are correct.
Some of those villages only have flights out once or twice a week, and some of them, I assume, don't even have airstrips, which would mean that the votes have to get to the regional centers somehow. I'm not sure exactly how they do it out there, but Alaska is certainly not like any other state in the union. Quite a lot of our population are not connected to roads in any way.
