Merry Hanukkah from the White House!

The president and the first lady invited leaders of America's Jewish community for a Hanukkah reception at the White House next month - but raised more than a few eyebrows by putting a picture of a Christmas tree on the invitation.

DCist adds that the First Lady's spokesperson apologized on Laura Bush's behalf.

Gosh, the holidays are just a madhouse this year! What with all the last-minute looting shopping and having to plan our getaway move in January, I just didn't have time to check up on the photo for our Hanewkah Hana caw Hanukkah reception. Not that it was my fault, of course. And really, isn't the spirit of Christmas all about forgiveness? So come on, Moshe and Golde, let's all be like our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and let this honest mistake go. Okay?
