My annual Macy's Thanksgiving Parade complaint
Marching bands aside, why is it that they always choose the absolute worst pop music artists in the country to lipsync their crappy songs? Americans make great music, but I never see it on Thanksgiving morning. I'd love to see some jazz, blues and/or newgrass groups up there. Instead we get the same thing every year, awful Disney pop music.

I guess I could just turn off the TV, but it's kind of a tradition. Oh well, rant off.

4. OMG!
That's amazing! And it ended with some muppet thing saying "I like Rick rolling!" He seemed pleased to be there. Any publicity is good publicity I guess.

7. It's just background noise while I cook.
They did have Andy Williams lip-sync a Christmas song.

9. Disney pop is almost symbolic of America today...
Bland and without substance but well marketed.

You're gonna get hokey handwaving holiday fare with the poppest of pop stars for the whole family. It's not like they're gonna break out with Sonny Rollins' "Blue 7" over at the Jackson Pollock float with the Paul Taylor Dance Company, THOUGH THAT WOULD BE A GAS!
