Hey kids, get in on the fun! Play the Clinton was a bad president game.
Play at home, or online. Oh, wait the online/internet thing. Clinton fucked that up! Well economy is his fault, just like nightmares of penises past, Clinton is taking a bow for this one two according to some here.

Let's see. Bush the Elder was in the WH, and there was a recession,(I know, I was there), and he was the President that won the Gulf war, but strange, he LOST the election to Clinton. Good thing a recession had nothing to do with that or a nice juicy S&L scandal and payout that actually makes our current bailout look charming.

You see Bush the Elder blamed Greenspan for losing the election by not loosening up on the money side. This was a mistake not to be reapeated, as Bush the numb nuts did what right after he got into office? What did he do? Kids? Come on, don't Wiki the answer, that's cheating, and besides you are better than a hedge fund manager.

Bush the numb nuts took Greenspan to a LONG lunch, and espalined that the fuck over by him to his dad would NOT be happening this time, as Rove's eyes glowed in a corner, and Cheney listened in however he does.

That's why Baby Bush talked DOWN the economy right before and after he stole the office. Now Greenspan not wanting to get on the bad side of a crime family happily complied, and thus we are here. Minus the penis. Can't connect the two. Can't do it.

So flail around and make the Clinton presidency the evil nasty thing you want to as you play some idiotic game online with a German game freak, but the question is would you of rather had another Bush the Elder term? Well would ya punk?

5. I would have - GHWBush expected to be impeached after release of Dec 1992 BCCI report and

the inevitable hearings held on the MANY SERIOUS ISSUES of criminal operations referred to in that report.

That would have assured a much more informed public and a greater exposed BushInc and its Fascist agenda.

Instead, Jackson Stephens put his Arkansas boy to work and FIXED everything up nice for his old friend and BCCI partner, GHWBush.....didn't he?

So....Quayle would have taken office and been soundly defeated by either Gore or Kerry who would have run against him in 1996. Probably Kerry since he would have been widely considered a hero to the Constitution for doggedly investigating and exposing the corruption of IranContra and BCCI, and the press would have likely spun a Clinton/Gore loss in 1992 as Gore's fault (with a great deal of help from the Carville types).

7. So, in contrast, was he a perfectly good president?
And if not, is there an unbiased, objective middle-ground that we can rationally reach whereas we can evaluate individual policies he supported as good or bad?

13. Yep., exactly my thought, too.
Bill Clinton was the best Republican president since Lincoln, well,
or maybe Eisenhower. Clinton campaigned as a liberal, but sure didn't
govern that way. 1996 Telecommunications Reform Act, welform reform,
the sanctions on Iraq, the list goes on.

10. once again
i dunno how many times this hasta be stated by someone, but ill do it again....

neither were the choices of progressives/liberals.

like every election, liberals are expected to pick the person closest to them(even if they dont share 90% of ideals) and vote for them...
because hey, we wouldnt DARE leave the democratic party...

did liberals want another GHB term? hell no! so what do ya do ? oh, thats right... vote for the person who least opposes your ideology...

clinton was lucky he was in office during the great tech boom of the 90s and he happened to manage it all really well... but to suggest any of his policies actually led to the economic upturn is crazy. just like republicans are bat shit crazy for sayin it was the republican congress. it was neither. had nothing to do with politics.

so once again

clinton nor the republicans had jack shit to do with the economic prosperty, but they didnt hurt it...
clinton won because liberals had no other choice and because republicans decided they liked that whacky fellow from the texas/arkansas border who could talk business.

was he a bad president? gosh no, especially compared to the ones before and hafter...
but a great president?
hardly.

11. But it was they that killed it (the tech boom, not the dot con fiasco).
He had the golden egg laying goose and he sold it off to make a few billionaires while losing the source of the prosperity.

Who here has accused Clinton of being a bad president? Who here has said his presidency was an evil nasty thing?

We can't discuss policy without being called a hater?

15. most favored nation status to China
put how many millions of us Americans out of work?

I thought Communist China was still the enemy in the cold war when Clinton moved for MFN status for China.

I guess we should favor a country in which children can be forced to work instead of going to school and in which pollution control and workers rights are basically non existant, I mean that would be the "modern" thing to do.....

CLINTONS BIGGEST FUCK UPS WERE SIGNING REPUB IDEAS INTO LAW! so no shit, it is Clinton's fault for following the Republican lead. Clinton and Blair were just fake left leaders who gave the illusion of a conter movement after Reagan and Thatcher but who really just continued like the right wing assholes;

do not even get me started about welfare reform!
